DV member of the month

1) A member who consistently writes intelligent and thoughtful boards.
2) A member appreciated and understood by both newbies and veterans (and everyone in between). Also has the ability to use easy and understandable words for difficult concepts.
3) A member everyone enjoys his/her company.

So here are some basic rules (suggestions are most certainly welcome)
-Votes begin the 4th week of each month
-Only one vote per member
-A member cannot vote for himself
-Final results revealed the 1st of the following month

I believe such votes would increase our sense of community in DreamViews, without triggering unfriendly comptetition between the members --> After all, there won't be any prizes at stake

, just recognition by peers for his/her contribution to the community.

What do you think?

I've been wanting to formally introduce a program such as this but am waiting now for this school semester to wrap up (because there's a bunch of custom code I want to add to facilitate this).

But anyway...nice idea!

Not a bad idea, But it might make some people to cool. On many forums there is just to much of a hiarcy, and that allways leads to power abuse.

But hell. Lets whore ourselfs out!

I think this is a wonderful idea. Lets implement it. Also, how about once a member has been chosen, they cant be repicked for at leats 3 awards after.

We've been kicking this idea around for almost a year now. Maybe like Icedawg said, when the semester is over.

I think that is a great idea. It really shows that DV wants to honor it's most valuable members.

I think that there are probably too many good members for me to narrow it down to just one, really!

I mean, I wouldn't want anyone to feel bad, because they were not chosen at all.

lol seriously, i feel many are not very confortable with choosing between many potential members. The fact is, i think these votes should really not be taken seriously.. but only for entertainment values!

I believe that everyone feels like family here and respects one another. We will be okay selecting an outstanding member of our family one a month.

I believe, when we were in discussions, that we decided on choosing 3 individuals a month. I believe also that we were going to form a committee who would do the voting, while anyone could nominate someone. ... Don't quote me on that though since we haven't discussed this in quite sometime and I've likely mixed up the details.

Look for this program to begin mid-to-late spring.
