Why is everyone posting pictures of spiders? Serisouly? Can you put that in spoiler tags?
I really have to resize my window so I don't have to look at it while I type...
I am fascinated by them. They have come to represent different aspects of our
humanity over time. They play a large role in body language and how one
communicates to others. It has been said time and time again that they are the
gateway to the "soul". Through the eyes we perceive the world of light before
us, in varying shades, hues and three-dimensional splendor.
There are many different kinds. Eyes that melt you (emotionally), eyes that
never blink, eyes that make your skin crawl. You may get the feeling some time
that you are being watched, as if there were a pair gazing upon you. Mayhap
more than just a pair?

I have two I'd like to show right off the bat. Two I enjoy very much.
And I wonder what it must be like to see out of any more than two eyes at a time.
And I wonder what it must be like to see with eyes that functions the way these do.

"I loved the old man. He had never wronged me.
He had never given me insult. For his gold I had no desire.
I think it was his eye. Yes it was this.
One of his eyes resembled that of a vulture.
A pale blue eye with a film over it.
Whenever it fell upon me my blood ran cold.
And so by degrees very gradually I made up my mind to take the life of the old man and thus rid myself of the eye forever."

Yay, pretty pictures.
Eyes are amazing. The way they work, all with just so little space, backwards mirrors in a little squishy sphere~
The second picture is of my own eye
I'm rather vain about it, so I just had to post it.
I wonder if there will eventually be a headset that would let you see as a spider, or some other sight-enhanced animal.
I can see my computer tower at the moment, with 2 usb flash drives sticking out of it, and a headphone cable coming from the front jack. There's a large lamp beside it, with my old pair of headphones resting on the base.
I wonder how differently I see everything compared to others. Raising the whole 'I see red, is your red really my red?' argument/philosophy.
Persepctive, lol

I <3 eyes.
They are fascinating.
Also, think about this.
We have our whole spectrum of colors because of one of our light wave things.
what if the light wave was slightly different, would there be new colorsalso, how would our eyes handle it

I have found out why I love Ninja so much! It all resides in the first post I ever made at this forum.

I love eyes. Especially really deep ones.

I heart eyes as well. I actually have a really cool pic of my eye I will post here when I get home (although there is a "Post your Eye" thread) I think this one is more for "abstract eyes"?
Also, I'm going to shamlessly plug this because there are some interesting views and articles in it discussing different possibilities of color perception through different eyes...

I one time had a dream where I was in the drive way of the house that I grew up in and an old man in a brown robe told me that if I want to know about somebody, instead of looking at them, I should look at the eyes of somebody looking at them. Fairly weird.

Eyes have always fascinated since I was young. I'm not really sure why. I really like staring into someone's eyes (anyone really).
Spoiler for conceptual eyes:
Eyes are so beautiful. I am facinated by them, and I can't help but stare at them sometimes.

I love the second pic in the post just above. That is one sveet eye.

No-name, that multi-colored cosmos eye looks fantastic. It reminds me of the
rendition I'd use as a symbol to represent humanity. The multicolored iris, that
is. The colors are to die for.
Xox, those are great, yes, and all from deviantart? I'm familiar with some, but
this one stands out for me above the others.
There's something about a slitted pupil that just does it in for people, the
way it's used to portray an evil being or some such. Likely due to the relation
to snakes, and although there are religious implications there, that particular
style of eye tends to have a relatively universal message when being used in
character design. I'd attribute the hostile feeling more towards the fact that
primates have an innate fear of reptiles in general, and that the trait (among
fear of, say, spiders and other potentially harmful biological things) remained
present in human beings on a basic level. The interesting thing to note is
that cats have similar pupils, although not always as pronounced, and that
the "alien evil" feeling is not naturally associated to the feline.
The flaming sun as an iris takes the cake, in any case.
And on the more extreme side of slitted eyes..
Spoiler for Gecko:
dreamingofdreaming, your plugging is welcome. The mantis shrimp
tidbit provided by Specialis Sapientia was pleasing, and mind boggling.
PhilosopherStoned, mayhap your dream had a significant meaning
there? You can find some amount of truth in a person by how it is reflected
in the people they impact, hm? Or maybe you've figured it in other ways,
even in all its weirdness.
guitareboy, that second is a healthy contribution. And of the last
one? Is it only a spider, or some kind of mite? The image looks like that taken
by an electron microscope.
And have a gander at the gold flecks in this one's eye. Amphibians have curious pupils as well, I say. Sideways ovals that can be stretched at the bottom.
Spoiler for Frogster:
Am I the only one here whom eyes make uncomfortable? Eyes watch. The feeling of being watched is never a good one, for me...

"Take atheism, for example. Not a religion? Their pseudo-dogmatic will to convert others to their system of beliefs is eerily reminiscent of the very behavior they criticize in the religious."
I prefer ears.

Eyes are the part in human body, which I focus first. Eyes give people away, they reflect feelings. I respect person who can look me right into my eyes and withstand my stare. There are so many kind of eyes, different colors, different shaped, different feelings in them. As said they are a crucial form of your body languge.
People usually praise my eyes, they think they are beautiful. Many have also said that my eyes are scary, usually in a beautiful way. Often the description is that they are orbs in which a furious ice storm rages or then they are like the calm surface of ice cold tundra lake. What other part of body you get described with such a words? Eyes are splendid <3
I will post some of my favorite eyes when I have time and I am near my home computer![]()
Jujutsu is the gentle art. It's the art where a small man is going to prove to you, no matter how strong you are, no matter how mad you get, that you're going to have to accept defeat. That's what jujutsu is.
