      Going on a Holiday...

This is a question to anyone who's been out on a trip for a while. Early next year (yeah, still a while away) i'm going to Japan for two months or so. However, my friend who I was going with can no longer go due to certain circumstances. I don't know of anyone else who is interested, so that leads me to my question... can a trip like that be just as enjoyable by yourself?

Well I don't know about Japan, but I've been dying to go someplace on my own... just DYING to, aghhh!! Japan might be less enjoyable on your own unless you have a really good command of the language.

Well, i'm certainly not fluent. But I do know enough to get around, and I have been practicing so by the time i'd go I shoiuld be doing pretty well.

Two months is a long time but it can be enjoyable if you're comfortable doing things on your own. Do you enjoy eating alone, shopping alone, sightseeing alone, etc.

Perhaps they have group packages/tours that you can join and possibly make new "traveling" friends.

Yeah Japan is not really the sort of place which screams meet new people!

I don't know depends how comfortable you are being on your own and putting up with yourself! I know I get very bored and irritated being on my own, so would go somewhere I can interact with other people etc
