Thread: Haunted houses.

I can't believe no one's done this one already. Well, time is running out so, have you seen any cool videos of haunted houses? Have you be part of any cool haunted houses?

First, here's an awesome video of a Halloween display some one made with an animation program. They then projected it onto their house from across the street. This is awesome and very clever. Many moons ago, I was part of a haunted house put on in a vacant store by my Scout troupe at the time. My section was done with a friend of mine. We used parts of an old store display mannequin with detachable legs, arms and wrists.

I was seated in a folding chair with my right leg hidden in back, through the opening. I was covered with a "bloody" sheet and had the bent mannequin leg in place of my real one. I was also holding one of the arms.

When a group reached our station, my friend (who was dressed in a white lab coat, goggles and had a chain saw with the blade removed) would crank up the chainsaw and saw off my wrist. Then the arm. The leg was next. The whole time, I was yelling and screaming. He, of course, laughing maniacally.

Then when the butchering was complete, he'd press a footswitch on a flash pot I'd made and, in a flash and puff of gun powered smoke, he'd step behind a sheet and out of sight. So it appeared as though he vanished in a flash. The guide would then escort the people to the next section and we'd reset.

We were in the local newspaper and won honors for our awesome display that year. The rest of the haunted house was cool but ours definitely took the cake. It was sure much more impressive than the standard "wear a blindfold and feel the "eyeballs" (peeled grapes), "brains" (cooked spaghetti) and something else, which I've forgotten" section of the event. A lot of people commented how realistic ours looked. We also won a "People's choice" award as part of an exit poll.
