why, are you wanting to hallucinate?
This is a place for the people like me who are up all night on DV. GO!
Anyways, I'm trying to stay up for a few days, and I need to talk. GO GO!

why, are you wanting to hallucinate?
Ignorant bliss is an oxymoron; but so is miserable truth.
Yeah, that'd be nice. But imagine the dreams after 5 days of no sleeping. Non stop lucid fest!
But yeah, free drug state.... Sweet!

oh, that's right.
but yeah, staying awake long enough to hallucinate is definitely somewhere in my list of things to do before i die.

I'd say that it's gonna get freaky. I stayed up for awhile back in my youth, and I think I saw a keebler elf hump my leg. That's when I said 'Fuck this shit, time to sleep!'
:{
that's pretty fucked up right thereI think I saw a keebler elf hump my leg
One time back in my insomnia days I was having HI mixed with reality. Some donut guy was trying to sell me donuts in my living room. He was standing right there in front of me and talking to me. I could hear his voice, as well as the voice of my mother who was not far away in real life. My eyes were open so it was all so weird. He wouldn't shut up so I finally got pissed and yelled "Goddammit!! I don't want any of your goddamn donuts!
My mother gave me a look that I will never forget.

I couldn't sleep for two nights once (it was only about a month ago actually), and the worst hallucinations I had were weird noises I would hear when I closed my eyes for long enough (but I get that all the time when I'm tired anyway so it's really nothing out of the ordinary). How long do you have to stay awake to hallucinate properly?

Never: LMAO
Rob: i'm sure it varies from person to person...

5 days without sleep makes the brain go haywire; the nerves usually misfire or stop short of their destination which messes up the senses. That's what causes the hallucinations.
But yeah, there's been a couple nights where I didn't sleep, and then the next night I had amazing dreams (I think maybe because of the missed REM period).
And BD, five days? Sounds like when my friend was smoking jibb.
Starry starry night, paint your pallet blue and gray,
Look out on a summers day,
with eyes that know the darkness of my soul.
5 days is tough to reach. I know after three you start having episodes where you don't know who or where you are; this was usually when I would fall asleep for fear of impaling myself on something by accident.
