Hand out Busniess cards with the website link, and hide them in your home town for people to find. When someone picks it up they could come here learn.
and they can read the Topcola promo ad on the back.

I myself would'nt want to persuade anyone to lucid dream. To me its more of a self discovery and an inner human desire to undersand and become knowledgeable of this self awarness.
So you can only hint of the phenomena of lucid dreaming. But someone will not understand it until they have experienced it.
LOL, thiis reminds me of the blue and red pill of the Matrix.
When I dream, theres always a
little girl playing in the dirt, that
turns to me and says "Why are
you here? .... Are you blind like
me?"
What I've found
What I've known
Never shined to me what I've shown
Never be
Never free
I wish to see what might have been...
...So I talk to you unbeliever.
I walk in the rain. 1111
I used to feel the same way, but I don't want anyone to be deigned the incredible experiences of lucid dreaming.
That would be very costly, especially if it were advertised on a national level. Lucid dreaming is for those who are interested. If they are interested in things of that nature...they'll find their way to it, afterall...we did.Not only that, but usually television advertisements are done by companies who are hoping to sell a particular product and/or service...ultimately profiting from the advertisement. Besides selling placebo LD pills and LD devices (which dreamviews doesn't do...) I'm not sure how DV would expect to recoup its money. Liability anyone?
Besides...If television advertisement were to happen I think it would be done by the lucidity institute (since they are the forerunners and pioneers of Lucid Dreaming.)

I think just getting the masses to know what the term "lucid dreaming" means would be a start. Many people lucid dream but don't know that there's a name for it, let alone a website like DV out there devoted to it. Just getting the term out there and not making it sound like a "new age" thing would make people more aware. I talk to my friends and family about it sometimes. I figure if I tell someone, tell may tell someone, and so on. I try to spread the word![]()
It depends on who you ask. I've come across some people that aren't interested, but some people are and they've registered on the forum. The point is that you don't know who's going to be interested and who isn't until you ask them or talk about it.
Now I don't go up to people and just start going off about LDing. But if someone mentions a dream they had the other night, or something along those lines, I bring it up in case they are interested. And a fair few have been. I think more people would be interested than you think.
I have done that several times with friends, especially at my Taekwondo club, if they discuss dreams and such. They just ignore me and change the subject, really. Some have been interested, but if I try to talk about it a second time, they are uninterested and change the subject.
Achievements:
Oh come on,
T-shirts, bumper stickers, pins, hats, coffee mugs, sleeping masks... the list of normal shit that you can print a design on and sell is virtually endless. I'm sure Dreamviews could come up with a few products to sell, and they could even use cafepress.com to do it at first so there would be no overhead cost. I for one would be happy to design some things (as long as there was some minimal kick back, like free product with my design) and I'm sure there are plenty of other people here who would be too. They could have design contests, put the winners on shit from cafe press, and have almost zero work or effort to contribute themselves.
I thought that too, but honestly the vast majority of people I've talked to about it are not that interested in it. Because its something I enjoy so much, I find it hard to believe that others wouldn't get just excited but for the most part they don't and its weird to me every time I encounter it.

That's a wonderful idea Xaqaria...but I was referring to "television advertisement's." And I don't see how selling a "coffee mug" or "stickers" here and there would cover the cost of air time. Considering Dreamviews doesn't have a solid well known brand name, like youtube for instance...my expectations for people buying such novelties are pretty low. Maybe a few hundred customers per year...if that much. If the brand name was rock solid, well-known and DV had a consumable product to offer...then I could see those hundreds turning into (repeat) thousands of customers.

That is why step one would be adverstising DV, Jeff![]()

Once again...and this is the last time I'll repeat this...I was only talking about "television advertisement". I was addressing a users post above. I'm not a marketing/advertising guru...not in the slightest. But since DV doesn't have a consumable product and it's not "well-known." Television advertisement imo, would be out of the question. bumper stickers, t-shirts etc.. would be a more sensible alternative...which is what Xaqaria touched upon.

Mhm.
Those work.
Maybe we could rent a plane with a Dreamviews banner trailing behind it and get it to fly over major beaches Like Daytona, Miami, and... Other coastal places of high populations.
Or hotair balloons and business cards.
A Dreamviews band?

Am I the only one here who couldn't care less about who does and who does not know about lucid dreaming? Just because someone has come across something that he/she enjoys, doesn't automatically mean that that concept needs to be forced around. The only time I would ever even bring it up would be if someone were having trouble with nightmares or something. What exactly is the point of going through the trouble of getting more people to find out about lucid dreaming? Besides, it's not like this site could even cope with all the potential LDers out there.

But think of the merchandising and CASH, Mes!
CASH!!!
