Thread: How well do you see?

I don't wear glasses or contacts - guess I lucked out. My vision is 20/18 last time I had it checked (about a year ago), not too shabby. Those eyes tests are hard, though!

I have a very bad vision, I should go see an optometrist but I don't want to wear glasses.


When I was young I wanted to have glasses really bad (weird I know) So I actually cheated on my view test, but the optomestrist found out ahaha..

I'll start it off. *Last time I asked the optometrist said I had 20/400 and on my box of contacts (that I just picked up this morning), the power I use is -6.50 in my left eye and -6.75 in my right.

I have around about -0.80 in both eyes. So, I'm slightly short sighted. Not very much though. I still have glasses, even though I don't REALLY need them. They do help make words on the screen in lectures clearer, and they make the world sharper and more in-focus. Noticeably. I could survive without them, and in fact, DID survive without them for a good 18 years of my life, but, I found they help slightly.

And they make me look smart.

Mine is like 20/40 or something. I don't normally wear glasses except for when I drive. I thought of getting the eye laser thingy to make it perfect, but I probably should wait a while. I am still young enough where my eye sight can change, and since it has changed slightly in the past, I should wait.

i have very bad vision, and thus i wear glasses... the strength just had to be doubled... don't know the exact strength of 'em now though...

I have horrid vision. Like 35/45

20/20 as of last week. strange because glasses still make me see better

Everyone in my family has terrible vision, so I wear glasses. Nerdiness +3. Its a curse, but as for strength, I don't know what it is.

-2.75 for me... What does that mean?

I'm in a bit of a sight crisis a now, as i've got one contact lens left, one that I should have thrown away a few weeks ago. It's foggy. Also the catalyst that nutralises the acidic liquid stuff doesn't work. My eye almost burned away this morning.

Yeah, I can tell you right now that tons of those specs are bad...
I don't remember what it means, but I think that if one has a lot of those for a long time, that can lead to cataracts (I think), and those dark blind spots are broken bloodvessels or cappilaries which is bad too.

But I'm not an optometrist, so I wouldn't know.

If my eye falls out it falls out, that's all there is to it. What do I care, my eyes are shit anyway. Stupid eyes.

And I'm sure the eye guy would tell me if some thing was bad, right?

-5.50 and -5.75 for the contact prescription. I faked the vision tests in elementary school by memorizing the chart, so it wasn't until my parents took me to an optometrists in 6th grade that they found out my vision was already something like 20/200. I'm still not sure how I managed to fake being able to see in school and such - probably a mental inference or other adaptation of some sort. But for all of you nearsighted people, glasses don't just make you look smart, they may be an outward indicator that you really are smart!

I had 20/200 vision in 4th grade, I think. I didn't get glasses until 3rd grade, mainly because I didn't really have a vision test up until the teacher noticed that I had to squint really hard to see the board.

My dad feels bad because apparently when I was in little league in 1st and 2nd grade, I had a hard time hitting the ball. I don't remember it, but that would make sense.

Everyone who has a prescription seems to have each eye pretty close to the other one.

And then there's me:

-2.50 for the right
-1.00, -0.50, 180 degrees for the left *the left has 3 parts because it has an astigmatism.

Whoa. Those floater things, I've had those as long as I can remember, I've always wondered what they are.

Anyway my vision is really good. i don't remember the number, but my vision is about double the average.

20/15 So far,so good !

my sight is pretty jacked. i cant even make out the big ''E'' at the top of the eye chart. i only know its an E cuz its always an E.

plus i have to wear toric lens, so i gotta pay thru my friggin nose just to buy em. i have near-sightedness and astigmatism.

dont know what my actual sight measurements are. probably 20/mars.

I've past all the sight tests at school, both eyes are fine. Not sure on the exact numbers though.

L- 3.00
R- 1.25

going to give laser eye surgery 5 more years to be refined on guinea pigs, then utilize.

first got glasses in grade 3 or 4. will never forget putting them on for the first time and being absolutely blown away by how much intricacy i had been missing. i could actually see the grass, and clouds, and faces.

makes one wonder in what other areas they are myopic, and assume they see as clearly as possible

20/20 in one eye and a little better in the other. but when i have my beer googles on i have x-ray vision. it pretty much rocks.
