Discuss.
I mean, this is what I constantly see.
That gets really, really annoying. I don't even come to DreamViews for DREAMING anymore...I come here for the entertaining lounge section and everything under the "Lucid Dreaming" section.
It's rubbish. It's 131 pages of the same questions, posts, etc.
if for some reason TL;DR - Rant about How the LD section is really the "Ask a question" section.

Hmm.
Dreamviews has been cycling since around late 2005.
Paperdoll/Hysteria were one of the first to complain about this exact same subject. Later came ExoByte, Suttsman, etc., there were all kinds of people with the same attitude~
But, people want to know about lucid dreaming. People are going to ask questions. If we don't answer them, are we really a lucid dreaming site?
We are first and foremost about lucid dreaming. That's the truth~
It's the same in R/S, ED, SB, the newbs are all the same, the exact same old face, we've seen before under a different username and personality.
The same staff memebrs that take their job too seriously,
and the same people that complain about all these cycles.
It happens. DV is happy as-is, no matter your emotion. :3

Ahh, yes, DuB has a good point as well. ._.

I stayed far out of that place for a while, until someone asks a decent question, or I like the person asking the question. If the question is good, but they don't use any grammar, I /facepalm.
if you can read this then you are about to be punched
We have major FAQ threads that cover the same basic questions that are constantly being asked.
The lucid section of the forum can be cleaned up if we redirect the members creating those posts to the FAQs and get rid of the bulk threads at the same time. A pre-made PM or something along those lines would be ideal.
That's why we have staff.
(To manage the forums, if anyone was unaware)
Are we lacking the staff required to fulfill all of the tasks of forum management, or have we omitted the cleanup of repeating-threads as a duty? It must be repetitive, and terribly boring (no sarcasm intended).
DreamViews is just one big circle of life <3
you're a noob, you ask questions, you know things, you answer questions, you become inactive![]()

Lucid dreaming is really much a personal experience; advice, DJs and research, is quite all there is to talk of.
You merely have to change your point of view slightly, and then that glass will sparkle when it reflects the light.

Well since this is a forum, it suffers from basic forum diseases, which you have succesfully discovered
no escape I quess, people ask seek for answers, but they tend to forgot the search button. Some have such a personal twist in their problems( which is normal if we are discussing about dreams) so they want to have personal advice.
Jujutsu is the gentle art. It's the art where a small man is going to prove to you, no matter how strong you are, no matter how mad you get, that you're going to have to accept defeat. That's what jujutsu is.
I usually only read off topic section

Discussing new experiences and uncommon avenues of lucid dreaming is something that is highly interesting. Surely we've all had some strange experiences or have noticed interesting things about our dreams -- patterns, similarities with others, new triggers.
If you feel there is a need for more variety, perhaps you should post some of your own experiences with room for discussion and see where that goes?

I've never posted or read anything outside the Off-Topic forums.

Discussion is the main reason people join a forum instead of just reading a tutorial or guide. Some people learn by asking questions. They process information by engaging with the material and discussing it. This is why most universities are built around the model "Lecture --> Discussion Group" The question may not be new to you, but it is new (and important) to the person who posed it.
I want as many people as possible to learn about lucid dreaming. I think letting people ask questions is a great way to get them interested and invested in the topic. If we merged everyone's questions, or directed them all to a tutorial, it would not help them feel like part of the community. It would not encourage them to learn and participate.
But you're right. Its definitely not very cool![]()
I like the fact that all the staff and dream guides etc are actually active here.
And I yea, you guys (or girls) are right. I was probably the same way.

This is why I PM people when I have questions
That way it only annoys the ones I PM.
April Ryan is my friend,
Every sorrow she can mend.
When i visit her dark realm,
Does it simply overwhelm.
Rofl this is cool
But seriously, has it ever been any different here? It's difficult to believe in that. There aren't so many LD-topics and LD-ideas to discuss nowadays, and it's hard to make up something new. Even if all newbie questions got deleted, the topics that got left would be cycling...

Like Cloud said, lucid dreaming is very personal, it's literally all in your head and your head alone, so even a common concern you have will seem very unique and personal to you, hence the million and one posts on "Was this a WILD?!"
And I can see how another big problem is that once a member has been here for, oh lets say, 6 months they get completely tired of the on topic section, so they stay entirely in off topic and start complaining about on topic. So instead of complaining go in there, respond to some posts, post a new thread, get involved and stop complaining.
I've taken my advice these past couple weeks and I'm actually enjoying on topic posts and seeing what concerns lucid dreamers right now and seeing if I can help :p

Now I know how to LD, I don't need the LD section really.
I just use it to help other people.![]()

Make a board for asking questions only. It wouldn't be flawless, but would help a lot.
Still, it's not like there is much to talk about LDing after you grasp it. I don't know why people don't start lucidity journals (journals about your daily LD attemps).
Suggestions only.
Saying quantum physics explains cognitive processes is just like saying geology explains jurisprudence.
lol'd at guitarboy.
and to Snowy, I honestly have no clue.
offtopic to snowy: I love the avatar. I saw that on youtube a while back (not really that long ago though) and was like![]()

lol I like it too. I was going to leave it up until the day after Analog went bye-bye, but I'm attached to it now. But my Naruchu will be resurrected in a few months.
