I just got doom 3 too.. I'm on my way to team up with some people in the alpha labs...! So far it seems like the gameplay is as repetative as you could except, but I'm hoping there will be some surprises further down the road... the graphics though are awesome! I run it at high quality 1280x1024

I'm at 1024...17" monitor, want the 85Hz refresh rate
Low quality just to keep the framerate nice and high. I had it on high but it was a marginal difference for hugely decreased performance...

I'm on a 21" screen. 1280x1024@85hz and 6.1 surround speaker system...

Shouldn't you go 1280x960? That's the proper 3:4 ratio...


And 6.1? Bastard! Still clinging to my 'ancient' 5.1

ok I am NOT going to play doom3 on any kind of funky special sound speaker setup, I'm going to put up with the crappiest 2 speaker setup imaginable, because I'm NOT going to be sucked into that game by the sounds (Which influence me alot) and then get another heart attack because an imp decides to jump me from behind, with all the freaky noises and stuff goin on I think i'll pass and keep myself a bit sane

Sorry, I generally assume that we're all insane, it won't happen again

hehe its ok i just dont want to get any more insane in the bad way - getting freaked out by doom3 in the dark with headphones on will do that. Sorry i guess i'm just a wuss.

Hehe, it's quite repetitive after a while, only a few parts managed to startle me...

This game wasn't really what I expected, not that I'm done with it...but so far only one place in the game managed to startle me... that was the place in the bathroom, when you look into the mirror and everything goes red, and you character starts looking like a zombie...

Yeah that freaked me out, kinda disturbing. Actually most of the hell-related scenes are kinda disturbing...I don't know how far you've gotten, I'm at Delta Labs sector 2b...there's something that happens right before this part which startled me pretty good

Nothing, I was just thinking mine would be more centered around parts of the game that mentally abuses you...

can some one give me the specs on doom 3 like is it on xbox pc both the requierments and all the good stuff please

Doing a quick google search, or just putting in minimal effort and typing in www.doom3.com would give you all the answers you could ever need...

ok im not THAT mad but jeez.... doom 3 has fucking insanely awesome graphics and all that but doom2 is still fun (and my comp only has 256mb of ram so doom 3 is out of the question ne way.....)
