Nutrition, definetly overlooked and i can agree with you all the way. It's one of those areas of life that requires that constant annoying effort, which i think why it isn't seen as a golden part of who we are. Then agin on the flip side, it's easy to think "it's just food".
Im similar to you, except instead of brain food i go for muscle food. So stuff like tuna, chicken, red meat, eggs, milk, protein powder and bread are all essential. For your lack of fats, flaxseed oil or omega oil, they are excellent sources of fats that your body can't produce naturally. Omega 3 is high in foods such as tuna and sardines, which again are good for your brain
Calorie countin'g, hmm wouldnt worry too much but eating times are important.
Im always paranoid that my body is going catabolic, eating away weeks of work. So eating before hunger strikes is the key.
