I made Danbo :3
Does anyone else do this?

N64 Young Link, Portal Turret, Portal GLaDOS cam, Final Smash Kirby, Dog playing guitar. (Too many videogame references. Oops.)
Cat, charmander, stegasaurus (for friends).
Want to make Guy Fawkes mask soon, followed by Samus.

Do you guys make this from scratch, or are there kits/printouts that you get and cutout?
Made this in lunch break today.

I've made things like a 3-inch tall WALL-E robot, a miniature new york skyline, circa 1930 (designed it myself), a number of Escher-esque designs. I've been trying to find a good mech papercraft kit, preferably free online. (and the libraries are surprisingly low on books withadvanced papercraft patterns. Almost as if they don;t think their patrons have heard of a photocopier.)
Nice EVA, Carosoul.

Papercraft...? ....starcraft??
~
So I was lurking around the internet, when I found something interesting. A papercraft rôundabout:
Spoiler for Original version:
It was 26 pages, so I resized it down to 13 pages. Smaller parts to work with, but I didn't mind. It was a bit plain, so I recolored and retextured it. A little more detailed, personal, but I didn't mind. Without further ado, the final* product:
Spoiler for Up:Spoiler for and down:Spoiler for closeup:
On the merry-gô-round brim's ovals are impressionist paintings--mostly Monet. The diamonds house snapshots of different segments of the horsehead nebula. Around the center pole I placed my favorite works of Zdzislaw Beksinski, because I could.
All of the horses on this flying hôrses were drawn by me, left as lineart for effect. Why did I spend so much time on pieces that would end up only an inch long? To be honest, I have no fucking clue. Here they are in all their ballpoint pen glory.
Perhaps the most interesting thing about the papercraft is that is an automata. It does indeed spin, and when it spins, the horses move up and down in an alternating pattern (compare the first two photos).
This took forever*.
*ad infinitum

Made some cats, from the Nightmare City flash animations (it's basically The Matrix, but less than five minutes, and with cats). I borrowed and retextured a template for the head, but the rest of the model was scratch-build. Heads are unglued and positionable.
Spoiler for Prototype model:
Spoiler for Warrior Cat:
Spoiler for Duel:

Hahaha that's sweet!
Oh yew, I've totally started something. Will post pics if I get around to finishing the difficult thing.
You merely have to change your point of view slightly, and then that glass will sparkle when it reflects the light.
Hijacking this thread is lovely.
Spoiler for My two favorite fictional characters:
Made the template for this one myself, oh ho ho:
Spoiler for Faggoty glasses:

Is that... Cthulhu?![]()
And Horse Jesus?

The only "decent" papercraft I've ever made:
Spoiler for crap:
It is wearable, and I have worn it many places, from school, to Renn Fest, and beyond. Still doesn't compare to Abra's stuff.

I like that. :3
Might I ask what paper/paint/glue you used? (My materials are normal printer paper and elmer's. 'Cause I'm cheap.)
Abraxas

Erm, standard card stock, green spray paint that bonds to plastic, and, for glue, I used scotch tape followed up by a couple coats of some kind of plastic wood finisher. The visor is some cloth from an old dress my mother threw into my closet a long time ago.
Yeah. . . The only thing I had to spend money on was the spray paint.
I made two of these total. The first one I made with printer paper, but it collapsed under its own weight. The second one held up much better. I still want to apply some resin to it so it'll last longer.
