I was wondering if certain personality types are more common in lucid dreamers. Some personality types are more associated with things like imagination so I thought this would make for an interesting topic.Take this test and then post the four letter personality type you get. The site gives you a description of each type. I am an ENFP.

Moved, as it doesn't ultimately have to do with dreaming.
I remember this test as something called the Meyers-Briggs, which I first took sometime in my first couple years of high school.
Anyway, my result was:

I can't ever take tests like that. Maybe if there was a "yes and no" option, or a "maybe", or "sometimes" or "it depends".
Ha! That proves it! I took a Myers-Briggs a few years ago and came away as an ENFP, and this test concurs. Energetic, Intuitive, Feeling, Perceiving
Intuitive seems to be a recurring trait, although it's too early to make any definite conclusion.
But, throwing out the hypothesis, it would make sense, wouldn't it? You have to be somewhat in touch with your self, your intuition, your third eye--whatever the heck you choose to call it--in order to become lucid, do you not? Should be interesting...
See you in my dreams...

I don't think tests like these can really describe a person very well..because even within the same type of person there are a billion different personsBut here is mine anyway because tests are fun, yay ^_^

SPs sometimes think and talk in more of a spider-web approach. Several of my ESFP friends jump from thought to thought in mid-sentence, touching here or there in a manner that's almost incoherent to the listener, but will eventually cover the waterfront by skipping on impulse from one piece of information to another. It's really quite fascinating.
how interesting.

I'm rather surprised I rated 22% on introverted; I would have expected more around twice that.
It does seem that a great many of us have 'intuitive' in our description, and I agree that it's probably the primary LDer trait. So often for me, I become lucid simply because I can feel it. I just sort of know I'm dreaming, somehow.

See if this surprises anyone here:
Kiersey writes:
The Champion Idealists are abstract in thought and speech, cooperative in accomplishing their aims, and informative and extraverted when relating with others. For Champions, nothing occurs which does not have some deep ethical significance, and this, coupled with their uncanny sense of the motivations of others, gives them a talent for seeing life as an exciting drama, pregnant with possibilities for both good and evil. This type is found in only about 3 percent of the general population, but they have great influence because of their extraordinary impact on others. Champions are inclined to go everywhere and look into everything that has to do with the advance of good and the retreat of evil in the world. They can't bear to miss out on what is going on around them; they must experience, first hand, all the significant social events that affect our lives. And then they are eager to relate the stories they've uncovered, hoping to disclose the "truth" of people and issues, and to advocate causes. This strong drive to unveil current events can make them tireless in conversing with others, like fountains that bubble and splash, spilling over their own words to get it all out.

Some things might stay strong over time, but other things change a little, usually in young people or anyone who is still looking to "find themself."
I'm always a high N, and I bet I used to be a good P in my youth. [Edit: Oh wow, I just noticed that INTP is the "architect," and I actually did want to be an architect for the longest time when I was young.] Over time, I became severely disillusioned with school and moved up the J ladder, but now it appears that I've backed off on that a little. Probably because of getting to know certain people.I could go either way on I/E... I've always wanted to be flexible to circumstances... Social when the situation permits, able to handle solitude just as well. The same with F/T, but I revile going to T arbitrarily (as in school!). I am confident that I will be in E more often once I get out into the real world, for I would tend to see the relationships as more real as well, and so would others.
Just wanted to shed a little light on what psychologists don't find. I bet some of you also have consistent values or principles that are not systemitized in the Meyers-Brigg.
Good call on the Keirsey types, Kim. (See, I told you that you were a hero!) The rest of you can find yours at:
http://keirsey.com/sixteenroles.html
As the rest of you might be able to discern just by reading this, only one or two of you might not be surprised by mine.
The Counselor Idealists are abstract in thought and speech, cooperative in reaching their goals, and directive and introverted in their interpersonal roles. Counselors focus on human potentials, think in terms of ethical values, and come easily to decisions. The small number of this type (little more than 2 percent) is regrettable, since Counselors have an unusually strong desire to contribute to the welfare of others and genuinely enjoy helping their companions. Although Counsleors tend to be private, sensitive people, and are not generally visible leaders, they nevertheless work quite intensely with those close to them, quietly exerting their influence behind the scenes with their families, friends, and colleagues. This type has great depth of personality; they are themselves complicated, and can understand and deal with complex issues and people.
Counselors can be hard to get to know. They have an unusually rich inner life, but they are reserved and tend not to share their reactions except with those they trust. With their loved ones, certainly, Counselors are not reluctant to express their feelings, their face lighting up with the positive emotions, but darkening like a thunderhead with the negative. Indeed, because of their strong ability to take into themselves the feelings of others, Counselors can be hurt rather easily by those around them, which, perhaps, is one reason why they tend to be private people, mutely withdrawing from human contact. At the same time, friends who have known a Counselor for years may find sides emerging which come as a surprise. Not that they are inconsistent; Counselors value their integrity a great deal, but they have intricately woven, mysterious personalities which sometimes puzzle even them.
Counselors have strong empathic abilities and can become aware of another's emotions or intentions -- good or evil -- even before that person is conscious of them. This "mind-reading" can take the form of feeling the hidden distress or illnesses of others to an extent which is difficult for other types to comprehend. Even Counselors can seldom tell how they came to penetrate others' feelings so keenly. Furthermore, the Counselor is most likely of all the types to demonstrate an ability to understand psychic phenomena and to have visions of human events, past, present, or future. What is known as ESP may well be exceptional intuitive ability-in both its forms, projection and introjection. Such supernormal intuition is found frequently in the Counselor, and can extend to people, things, and often events, taking the form of visions, episodes of foreknowledge, premonitions, auditory and visual images of things to come, as well as uncanny communications with certain individuals at a distance.

Hmm.... associated with Artisans/composers and contrasted with idealists, rationals, and guardians.
Yep. That sounds about right.ISFPs may be quite charming and ingratiating on first acquaintance, flowing with compliments which may (or may not) be deserved. On other occasions, the same individual may be aloof and detached. Some ISFP males are fiercely competitive, especially in sport or table games, and may have great difficulty losing. This competitive nature, also seen in other SP types, sometimes fosters 'lucky,' 'gut' feelings and a willingness to take risks. [/b]
Not so correct. I'm more likely to be found with a notebook or book, but you never know.ISFPs are less fantasy-oriented than INFPs. These types are often confused, however, INFPs lean strongly to daydreams, poetry, prose and more philosophical pursuits; ISFPs often live out 'id' experiences rather than writing or even talking about them. INTJ - "Mastermind"
I: 67%
N: 25%
T: 88%
J: 44%
Particular passages that I thought sounded accurate, taken from both of the description pages:
Natural leaders, Masterminds are not at all eager to take command of projects or groups, preferring to stay in the background until others demonstrate their inability to lead. Once in charge, however, Masterminds are the supreme pragmatists, seeing reality as a crucible for refining their strategies for goal-directed action. [/b]When it comes to their own areas of expertise -- and INTJs can have several -- they will be able to tell you almost immediately whether or not they can help you, and if so, how. INTJs know what they know, and perhaps still more importantly, they know what they don't know. [/b]INTJs are perfectionists, with a seemingly endless capacity for improving upon anything that takes their interest. What prevents them from becoming chronically bogged down in this pursuit of perfection is the pragmatism so characteristic of the type: INTJs apply (often ruthlessly) the criterion \"Does it work?\" to everything from their own research efforts to the prevailing social norms. This in turn produces an unusual independence of mind, freeing the INTJ from the constraints of authority, convention, or sentiment for its own sake. [/b]In their drive for efficient action, Masterminds are the most open-minded of all the types. No idea is too far-fetched to be entertained-if it is useful. Masterminds are natural brainstormers, always open to new concepts and, in fact, aggressively seeking them. They are also alert to the consequences of applying new ideas or positions.[/b]
No ST's so far. I think this is noteworthy because they seem to be the most "concrete."
The next thing that might approach significance is that there are a lot of N's. But planecrash and Ame are S's, which is great. Every person should be able to have LD's.
But some people try to learn and still never seem able to. It'd be wonderful if we could find why that was so.
It does seem like there might be something to the overwhelming majority of N's. It would be interesting to know what percentage of the population each personality type has. I tried to make a poll for this thread but it wouldn't let me have that many choices.

Yeah, that reflects the distribution of those "taking the Temperament Sorter and the Character Sorter on Keirsey Temperament Web Site."
It's interesting because some of those percentages are widely off from the ones within the Keirsey descriptions. (Yours and mine, for instance, Kim are supposed to be much rarer!).
Now being math-geeks, I expect we'll try to explain it...
Four (this number keeps growing) explanations are immediately apparent:
1) A tech geek is far more likely to take an online personality test then is say, an artist. Therefore the numbers are skewed.
2) The original statistics are flawed based on sample sets that were too small and not random enough
3) Someone is deliberately skewing the results - a script sending 60,000 results back to make ENFP appear more prevelant, for example.
4) We see society's values changing to reflect more focus on intellectual pursuit.
I am ready to discount #1 as the Internet is sooo saturated. There is no real bias anymore.
I'm ready to fairly-well discount #3. It'd be obvious in the logs, and Keirsey should be serious enough to check that.
So I'm going with #2 or #4 (or some combination there-of) pending more data/other options presented.
