Thats right, this is not a joke... i could go buy a regular digital camera and be taking photos in 5 minutes if i were a sick perv.

My network connection is being funky, so I couldn't load it, but I know Sony modified their near-IR "NightShot" like 6yrs ago for this issue... Shooting NightShot during the day time would reveal details.

Personally, I figure if you're that desperate - enjoy the show. Maybe it will keep me from having to kill a would-be rapist. . . Not that I'd mind offing someone like that - it's just all that paperwork and time in court and crap...

I mean, let's face it: With all the free porn on the I'Net, you could probably do a lot better than fuzzy grainy nearly recognizable shots of me.

[edit: This is kinda old. It's from 1998. Sony has loooong since "fixed" that.]

Put a piece of tape of the sensor of the ~$200 near-IR security cameras we sell. No need to make anything...

It's still not even recognizable as much more than the sillouette of the female form.

Well, I don't really see that as a big threat. I mean, yeah, that's a little creepy, but if someone is that desperate to get grainy shots of my barely recognizable body, than I guess I don't really care that much. Porn would be their best bet.....

Er, if you read the article, the way you speak of it way overexaggerates it. It isn't just that its a "grainy shot." But its like, a silhouetted shot that isn't "clear" at all. It just picks up a bit of the light reflected beneath thin clothing. Big whoop.
