i never really got into the fad, since they dont fit on my wrist. I prefer girls that wear the really skinny rubber wristbands, preferrably the black ones![]()

A white rubber one... it's old, I don't remember what it said though. I got it from school, might've been an abstinence bracelet or something. And a yellow one that says Livestrong on it. Thanks to them, I not only have a dorky watch tanline, I also have a wristband bracelet tanline on the other hand.![]()

i fucking hate those things with a passion.
Ignorant bliss is an oxymoron; but so is miserable truth.
The charity ones are okay, it's just the others that are stupid.

lol i know a person who has more than 140! and she wears them all, all the time! and only a few are the same
"There are two types of people in this world, people who think there are two types of people, and people who don't."
I wear the first one that was released in the UK - the yellow "LIVESTRONG" one. It's to support cancer charity and is related to Lance Armstrong, the Tour de France cyclist.

thats not a bad idea getting some that say "Are You Dreaming" and some let you have more text all the way around so you could put "dreamviews.com" on the other side???Originally posted by OpheliaBlue
oh I thought you meant wearing them as a reality check or something
or popping yourself with one everytime you don't have an LD

Good idea, we should do a dreamviews one, nothing big, just maybe saying 'Are you dreaming?' then a little dreamviews url underneath.
You forced me to logon just to say I fucking hate those things too. I cannot stand them. You get all these mindless drones with their stupid bands and it makes me feel ill. Wearing those things is like saying "Hi, I'm weak minded!". Then you confront them with that and they are like "but...make poverty history! live strong!". This translates from idiot speak to "I am hiding under a thinly disgused veil of some charity".
If DV ever has a rubber band then I'm getting the hell out of here. It would be joining the damn idiot (chav) culture. Jeez not everything needs a stupid rubber band, especially not DV. Ugh, that just makes me shudder. I would quite gladly track down anybody who bought these things and shove them down their throats if I had the chance.
PS: Yeah. I'm slightly irrational about those damn bands.
Hide the kids...Uncle ITM is back!

I don't hate these bracelets, I just think that they are VERY overused. I was sad when an organization I'm in started using them.
I HAVE two for FCCLA, One green one that says July 16, 2005 for Harry Potter.
I WEAR none.
i were only one its the green and yellow one saying we BEElieve! cus thats a band for my school
you can't do that on the internet!.... wait yes you can do it again!
Reasons not to use rubbers:
1.) They're only 97 percent effective.
2.) They don't feel as good.
Seriously though, every time I see one of these things, whether for charity or not, I feel like thrusting a piece of rusty metal into someone's spine.
You have to admit the ingeniuity of it all--the popular must have increased charity quite a bit. But then again, for every person that gets one of the LiveStrong rubber bands, there's 4 more that will get one that says "PLAYER" (or something equally inane).![]()

I don't see why people really detest them. The majority of wearers are merely showing their support for certain charities. The charity ones are good but the fashion ones are disappointing.

Don't be silly; I asked a bunch of people what their bands meant and like 75% of them actually managed to get it wrong. Figures.Originally posted by TB
