Thread: Scariest Movies/Images/Things

Ever heard of a philosophical movement known as solipsism? Basically, according to the solipsist, only he exists. Since his only mind is the only thing he knows to be truly real, nothing else is.

Actually, the logic follows quite nicely. If the senses are our only means of processing information, and the senses are ultimately unreliable, then everything in your head must be - and is the only - reality.

And that's where the unsettling implications start to come in. That thing under the bed, in the attic, that your parents told you is "all in your head?" Well, your parents are also "all in your head." Your sight, your only source of reasoning, so reassuring when you turn the lights on and gasp in relief when you see that nothing's there? All in your head.

The thing in the attic, however, is another story. You've never seen it, you've never heard it, you've never sensed it, but your body really wants your mind to believe that it's not there.

Now why might that be?

Sleepaway Camp. I have not seen it, but I read a spoiler free description of the ending I've been dying to see it since. Except, I cannot bring myself to actually view it because I'm too much of a pussy. But as that synopsis says, it is truly disturbing.

I duno, that movie doesn't seem too disturbing to me, nothing seems to scare me anymore, I sort of have a zombie like attitude to horror movies now, They don't seem to effect me emotionally anymore sadly, I wish I could enjoy a good horror film

I was just watching Night of the Living Dead, good old classic...it gets a bit too slow though.

If anyone can actually post something that manages to scare me even slightly, I'll be extremely surprised.

It's in the middle of the night and I was playing a little Resident Evil 4.
That was kinda scary But that's not going to wokr for others I guess

lol re4 is harmless, thats far from scary.

Not even doom3 scares me anymore, maybe a real zombie killing people in real life would scare me lol

well, I don't really get scared either. But I do think Resident Evil is more
intense than Doom though.

I went to that Creepy Pasta site, and it was freakin' scary. Not 'scary scary' just like, disturbing scary.

Room 1408 is a pretty creepy film. I'd say it's definitely worth the watch. Sorta like the Shining in that it's eerie the whole way through and you really can't relax at any point. Also since it's based on a Stephen King novel you can be guaranteed a bit of class.

Well, there's a new video out of a couple russian skinheads cutting up/mutilating a recently killed guy in a bath tub. After a few minutes they finally removed the head, and start sawing through the limbs with a saw.

Also, there's the Dnepropetrovsk Maniacs... they killed a bunch of people and taped it, one of the vids got online.

There's the 'Grifter' video... which doesn't exist. There was a 'reacreation' made... but it's fake.

There's tons more... but that's all for now.
