...I think we get a little too concerned with what we see as 'important' and as a result we forget to d nice things for ourselves. Thank you Ame, you've inspired me. :)
I was walking home from watching a movie today and was walking in the middle of the road. So I thought to myself, "Why am I walking in the middle of the road?" and my response was, "Because I can." So, today's kind of been an off day so I decided to really think about things I was doing and find the joy in them. What simple things have you done today (or tomorrow) that you are glad you did?
-Walked in the middle of the street.
-Eating pork chops with my fingers.
-Took time to share part of a new poem with the river.
-Drank tea.
If this thread dies, no big deal. I just wanted to share.... Why? Because I can.![]()

This thread is EXACTLY what I needed today. It has been a stressful last couple of days at work and this just made me think about some good things in life! Thanks! What have I done:
- Stayed in bed with the cats for a half an hour this morning!
- Took the long route to work this morning.
- Skipped my work out.
Today I:
spent time in a field, smelling the grass and stuff
Held my breath for as long as I could
had an ink war with my friends![]()
I am going to kick some people in the nuts for fun and steal their money.
Becouse I can!
Society/Civilisation has restraint us in a good way, however certain things take away parts of our freedom. On an empty road, that's closed from cars, in most cases there is line an invisible barrier that keeps people from walking in the middle, even if you wouldn't annoy anyone.
So yeah break that silly barrier of society, but not the one that prevents you from kicking random people in the nuts.

Okay okay! I will say what I did, but you are going to find it awefully strange, okay?
I got mad to the point at work where I could not control my anger anymore, and it confused me....I don't remember exactly what I did, but I do know it was something really bad.
There, happy? I was censoring it, because I really don't like talking about it too much.
My dog farted next to my brother and gassed him out today... Had me laughing for hours. Well, not hours, but you get it. Ah, the simple things...
Today I:
-Listened to the hail hitting the metal roof and stuck my hand out the window. Man, I love that sound!
-Walked slowly outside, letting the tiny left-over droplets of rain fall on my face.
-and I just finished a cup of delicious hot chocolate from my favorite coffee shop.
I'm tempted to go walk over to the river and just watch it.

umm today I sat on my ass a lot.
And Waking Life was on IFC and I watched the part where they have "Holy Moment." That's probably my favorite and it deals w/ this thread because it is talking about how every moment in our lives could be considered "holy" -- that is to say a manifestation of a Creator.
And nesgirl, are you sure this "censored" thing wasn't you getting pissed when you failed to beat a level on a game?![]()
Back with less attitude and more diffidence than ever before! Maybe.
Actually, no. I'm using one of parent's cars when I'm here at home over the summer but I doubt they'll give it to me. And no bike either. One of my projects for this summer is to get one.... although I'd MUCH rather have rollerskates! Not inline... roller skates.Originally posted by Inverting_world_lines

-I was able to visit a new part of my state that I hadn't been to and admired the beautiful landscape
-I ate Thai food with a lady I've known for a long time that I haven't been able to get together with since January
-I ate Drunken Noodles!(no alcohol included... but they're kind of spicy)
-I reminisced about last summer

I wanted to bring this thread back. For those who aren't quire sure what this thread is about, it's about appreciating the simple things in life that we tend to overlook, but bring us at least some measure of joy.
Today I:
-Finished reading "Captivating"
-Made brownies (before you ask, they're regular chocolate brownies)
-Had a nice glass of wine as I read another chapter of "Mere Christianity."
-Had dinner with my parents
-And wore my current favorite turtleneck![]()

Awesome thread, glad you revived it, Amé.
For me, today I:
~*~ Slept till early afternoon.
~*~ Got to spend time with my niece and nephews, and my sister. My nephew Cody is really fond of me, and always wants to see "his" Josh.
~*~ Got a big leg-hug from Cody.
~*~ Saw the comments on a post I made in a certain thread on here, which considerably raised my spirits.
~*~ Got to see the look on my dog's face when she saw the new, chewy dog food she had for supper, and the subsequent look on her face when I added two small bags of cut-up hot dog pieces to her supper as a special treat, and an apology for not letting her out of pen to romp today.
~*~ Enjoyed just kicking back, relaxing, and watching some TV tonight.
~*~ Had a mug of Swiss Miss Dark Chocolate hot chocolate.
~*~ Talked to people hundreds, even thousands of miles away. (DV Chat)
~*~ Had a virtual date with Mes Tarrant.
~*~ Got a virtual hug from Amethyst Star.
~*~ Finally got the song Hand of Sorrow by Within Temptation, and listened to it in full.
~*~ Came across this thread just before I was about to call it a night, and discovered just how many of the simple things in life really are a pleasure.
Wow, thanks, Amé. I didn't realize just how much there was until I started typing, and thinking back on my day. You really are the best, you know that?![]()
