Yep yep! Everything is in order and I should be starting Basic Training as a Private First Class, and if I can finish ROTC quick enough maybe even higher. Much fun will be had!
But don't worry, I'll be around for a while longer. It's active duty but I ought to stay off the front-lines, so I'll live.

Are you allowed iPods during basic training?

Let's hope you've levelled up your dodging skills.![]()
You merely have to change your point of view slightly, and then that glass will sparkle when it reflects the light.

Well...It's been nice knowing ya, BeautifulDreamer. Try and retain an ounce of your own free mind. Good luck...don't get shot.
Surrender your flesh. We demand it.
What's your MOS? And no, you can't have iPods during basic. You don't get much of anything that they don't issue you themselves.
Don't die, my liege.

I think its sad your joining the army, but I hope you have fun and stay true to you'reself.
I am sort anti-army, but I'm sure there will be good times to be had. I just really don't like how they send soldiers into poverty stricken areas or schools and tell people lies to get them in the army. (I know this from a couple of these encounters, they blow everything out of proportion and dodge anything that has to do with real military life).
But good luck, just don't be so sure that you won't be under the line of fire one day.

hardly. Plus when peoples lives are put in danger, they tend to defend themselves.

good luck man
they dont shout a lot??? i thought they did
My MOS is 11B0, Rifle Infantryman. The recruiter is going back on his promises a bit, but he's remained sure I'll stay in the Green Zone. The only real danger is IED's and suicide bombers. But, I remain positive. I think I'm going to take the 10K instead of a promotion to PFC, since I only have to be on the field for six months (I think?) before automatic promotion.
I'll be doing basic in Fort Knox, Kentucky, which is good because alot of my wife's extended family live around there so she can be near me and still visit family.![]()

damn! you have a wife?! yikes. sounds kind of WTF
You didn't know I had a wife? Well, I mostly talk about her on chat I guess. Anyways, we've talked it over, and she supports it. Not happy, but she supports it. Alot of extra money will be coming her way, and once I finish my term I'll be able to go to college and get me some higher learning.![]()
It's really the only way I could afford to go besides selling my soul, organs, or all of the above.![]()

I think the army offers some free college courses while your in the army.
as for your wife...I think the chances of her cheating on you are going to be like 9/10 depending on her age.
