Recently my Prairie Dogs (yes, Prairie Dogs) have found out how to break out of their cage (I keep their winter cage in my room because it gets too cold outside) and have been playing around my room unsupervised. The first time they did the male began pushing my door which made a weird rattly noise. I had no idea what was making this noise so I walked over to my door and tried to open it and it was immediately slammed in my face. I tried again, same results. Finally I put some force into it and there he is, just standing there trying to look innocent. So I scooped him up and put him in their cage but I realized the female wasn't in there, so I began looking for her. Now Prairie Dogs do this weird thing that would sound similar to a high pitched "Yahoo!" when someone coughs. So I coughed, and she made the noise, but I couldn't pinpoint the exact location, so I tried again, but she didn't do it again (it's kind of like a once per couple of minutes thing). So started looking around and spotted some movement coming from my dirty clothes basket. So I dug through it and eventually found her sleeping in a pair of sweat pants.
I've ended up modifying their cage a bit so that they can't break out.
