Carousoul's a weirdo. Thank you for pairing me up with him.
Hey!
I thought it would be nice to send out some thanks to people out there on the board. Now there are a lot of people out there to give thanks to, a lot of people to forget, and too many people that deserve thanks. At this time, these are who I thought of.
I figured it might help to throw in some sort of guideline, if you feel like following it: Staff (approx 3), Members (approx 5), and random thanks or thought. For me, I thought I'd say who I wish I could see more from that has not posted much.
Staff:
Thanks:
Howie - I have appreciated your ability to maintain a personal relation with others and your administrative integrity. Furthermore, we've had some good discussions in philosophy and I find difficulty in really debating with you! I hope you realize how I intend this as a great compliment as I know how much you too like debates.
ninja9578 - In my time at DV, I have noticed how you became a rather notable DG. I like that you have taken your dedication well and I appreciate your contribution to the board.
Oneironaut - While at first I did not know you very well and thought you to be a be personally distant, I have grown to really see how you operate on the boards and I like it! I have easily seen your dedication to the board over the past year personally and I commend you on your typical cool-headed but assertive style.
Changes?
I wish Barbizzle posted more and that asher considered a more personal relation to the board.
Members:
NonDualistic - While our conversations took place a while ago, I appreciate the philosophical contributions of NonDualistic in regards to the importance of motion. I wish I could see more from ND but distractions are abound. I just hope ND see's how much DV cherishes you.
really & Cyclic13 - I am grouping these two together because my reasons for thanking them is directly similar; they are both great people to talk to. While we significantly disagree on many things, there is easily room for civil discussion which just goes to prove that internet debates can be good. I hope they cherish it as much as I - the board would not be the same without subjectivists and spiritual enthusiasts.
Mes Tarrant - Personally I think you're freaking adorable. When I think of the charismatic value of DV, it is usually the member like yourself that comes to mind that is able to spread the positive mentality throughout the board (parallel to Clarity).
Carousoul & Daniel Danciu - These two me are like a combination of the two above; while these two can easily have controversial and antagonistic behaviour, they are easily also the "fun" part of the board for me. When I imagine the quirkiness of the members, it is typically these two now-a-days as being the ones that can both be serious and yet also senseless (in a very good way). The board would not be the same without fellow random enthusiasts.
Person with little posts that I would want to see more from:
Thor - just a view of posts shows the depth of thought but there's only so little! Where are you?
What about you...? Thank you.
~

Carousoul's a weirdo. Thank you for pairing me up with him.

WOW thanks O'nus!!I didn't even think you noticed me, yaaay!
I'll keep coming back to this thread but for now thanks to:
O'nus - for being so SO intelligent in your posts, objective, willing to listen to others... And as I recall you were this way back in the day as well.I really appreciate this because it seems to be hard to come by.
Ninja - for ALWAYS having something nice to say. Your random words of kindness always make me smile.![]()

Some would call it creepy female stalking, others random words of kindness.
What a good idea; rather than constrict this thread to merely the Thank Yous of our glorious Führer O'nus, we can all share such thankyous.
lul, threadjacked
OK. So urm.Thankyou to;

Being one of the only remaining staff members I was very apprehensive at one point with all the new staff being brought up in the ranks. We are all afraid of change from time to time I guess.
I can't say enough about not only the work ethic of the new staff but I have really gotten to know some great personalities!!

Great thread, O'nus!
Staff
Oneironaut - You are an incredible moderator, always keep a cool head in all situations, have the most badass dreams I've ever read, and are a great friend. Thanks for all the inspiration, conversation, and the great work you do around here, O.
Howie - If I had to use one word to describe you, it would be 'sage.' You always have something wise to say, often from an unusual perspective that I would never have thought of. Your stream-of-consciousness manner of speaking is somehow easier to understand than the the best-worded of speeches, because you don't try to hide what you're thinking, you just type. You say what you mean, and mean what you say. Thank you, for everything, Howie.
Seeker, Burns & pj - Even though you've moved on from staff, without you this place would not be the same today. Might not even be here at all. All the work you guys did as administrators is simply beyond compare. You kept the site alive and kept the lucid blood flowing through its veins. Thank you for everything you did, and the nearly superhuman forbearance, patience and tolerance you exhibited.
ninja9578 - The job you have done as Dream Guide Team Leader is just phenomenal. There were times I really could not have done without you, times you pulled things together seeming out of nowhere, and times you've corrected my foolish mistakes without making a big deal of it. I really can't tell you how much I appreciate all that you've done.
Xox - My online 'little sister' of sorts. I love you to death, Zocks. Always fun in chat, you have a great sense of humor and aren't afraid to exercise it. You're also very mature and levelheaded, though. You're a great friend, who I need to talk to more often. Thanks for always backing me up but telling me when I need to just shut up and go to bed.
O'nus - Even though I don't really know you that well, you have shown yourself to have remarkable insight in many areas. You are doing an excellent job in your position as moderator, and your psychological training has certainly come in handy. Thank you for all that, and for this thread!
Community
Amethyst Star - Whenever I seem to be having a day from Hell, you seem to pop up to cheer me up. This is something you never fail to do, whether in chat, via spontaneous PM, or just from reading a post of yours on the forums. Instantaneous mood turnabout. Thank you for being there, for being an amazing friend, for your amazing sense of humor, and for the hundreds of glomps and cookies.
Jeff777 - Another amazing friend. I know I can talk to you about anything, and often do. You're a great listener, and always have a thoughtful question at the right moment that makes me really think to answer. Thanks for being there, and for caring.
Clairity - Always supportive and kind, caring and generous. I think you have the hugest heart of anyone I know. Your hugs have spread far and (world-)wide, and you too always bring cheer to my day. Thank you for giving all that you have.
Daniel Danciu - Your sometimes controversial posts often spark thoughtful and meaningful discussion, and you're a lot of fun to talk to in chat and on MSN, even when you utterly show me up with your accents and impersonations that indubitably outclass my own. Thank you for letting me—us—get to know you better.
Caradon - Though I don't spend as much time on-topic as I'd like to, I see your posts every now and then, and you always contribute useful and interesting ideas and information. Thank you for keeping the spirit of the site alive.
Sareni - You don't post much, but our late-night conversations are always enjoyable, and give me things to think about. You write excellent haiku, and just write excellently in general. Plus, anybody that likes Terry Goodkind is a good kind in my book. Thanks for the inspiration and thought-provoking conversation you always provide.
Vira - Though I try not to tease you or flirt with you too much, I just can't seem to help myself. You're a lot of fun to talk to in chat, and genuinely improve my mood with your sense of humor and dry sarcasm. Thanks for putting up with my shenanigans.
This reminds me of this thread a bit, but I think it's going in a different direction, one I like just as much. Please keep 'em coming, and I will add more as well.

Are people hitting on Vira because I was the first to hit on her?
Hitting on her is my thing ;__;

Very kind words, MoSman. Thank you. I've got plenty of thanks to give around, when I have a little more time. But, for now, accept this symbol of mutual respect as a token of my appreciation:Hehehe.
