Excorcism?
Do any of you have situations where the more you try to focus the more your thoughts conjure up completely and utterly random things?
I'll be trying to think about an apple or the like and then someone comes in an eats it, and I have to "reset" it...
This happens in dreams a lot, and sucks, because conversations usually end up bloodbaths, an then I have to rewind to talking about philosophy. Like if I notice the conversation is going well, a spark in my mind sets off my DC into a monster that I have to rewind. Like if I'm reading an a dark library, something will jar me and I have to reset the entire environment.
This also happens in my thoughts, when you try to think civilly about someone and suddenly imagine them dying or naked. It is extremely frustrating and compromising to your train of thought.
Anyone have this, and anyone know how to get rid of it?

Excorcism?
I used to have something going on that sounds similar. When I was young, I used to imagine bicycle pedals rotating in one direction, and not be able to make it reverse direction in my head. I also had weird things going on in my head in regards to the line I traced while I walked to school. Up until fairly recently, I used to sometimes count my steps as well.
I think all of these are related to some form of OCD, but it's mostly passed for me.

What Sky Saw - a lucid dreaming journal
It's like if I'm trying to imagine something, a fork keeps jamming between my teeth, and no matter how many times I pull it out it jams in again.
Yes, I know that. I believe it is relatively common.
Again, meditation and practices of focus and concentration will help with that.
Also, try various mind tricks. Slightly change something, let it run slower, cut the animation in parts and make each step separately. Or something.
