      what's something weird about you?

keep it serious. and please dont make fun of anyone... like me. ok here's mine!

I have this thing... that I dont know what it's called but I know there's a name for it. Some peoples' mind associates certain senses with other senses. Like it links it together somehow when there's no logical reason. for instance, someone can have the sense of hearing and touch linked by hearing a sound or a tune whenever they feel a certain object. Or they can smell something when they see a certain color. I can taste music. It sounds kind of weird... but it's not really. It doesn't always work with ambient noises or voices or things, but I can almost always taste music. Sometimes it will taste like things that I've never actually eaten before, so I can't always put a name to it, but i guess it's entertaining for my family because every time we listen to music in the car on the radio they say "what does this song taste like!?"
Of course when this happens people aren't really hearing or smelling or tasting something that actually exists outside their mind. Their mind just creates the sensation but it still seems real. kind of like lucid dreaming! The things happening aren't really existing in the real world, but they're still real things, just in your mind.

Awesome. I've heard of synesthesia before though I've never talked with anyone with it. Is it annoying?

As far as weired things about me... I have some odd habits. I rub the skin below my knuckles when excited, chew on pencils, sit on chairs with both my feet ("L" for deathnote fans), etc.

And tell me, did you start doing that only after you watched death note, or have you always done it?

I always did it... though admitably I did it more after reading death note.

oh so that's what it's called. no it's not annoying. Either I'm just used to it or the music I listen to usually tastes good anyway.

Actually, I think I may have that too. Though, I can only recall it happening when I see something really gross.

It would probably be easier for me to list the normal things about me ...

For one, I don't sleep much, maybe 4-5 hours a night, it doesn't affect me much either.

I bet you couldn't read my palms! I've always had 'old man palms' - my palms and the soles of my feet are wrinkled excessively. This is a trait of eczema sufferers, which I get every time I eat anything. It's quite annoying.

I've heard you say this a few times now... what exactly is in this HUD? I'm curious.

I can look at an object and imagine what it would look like if I saw a HUD, but I don't feel like I'm actually seeing it. Do you really see it persistently, or do you just imagine it?

yeah you may be surprised. I guess it's not really THAT rare because I have a neighbor that can play just about any instrument flawlessly and sing like no other and he can see music. I'm not sure if seeing the music has to do with his musical talent or synesthesia but you never know.

the most common kind of synesthesia, though, is seeing words in color which I get once in a while, but not always. (haha just kind of threw that in there)

I have a severe OCD issue - but I likes to lick the throw pillows at Target.

Seriously. Something about the way they feel is just awesome.

      Lefty anyone?

I'm left handed, but I do a lot of other stuff with my right hand like bowling, using scissors, playing the guitar... I thought that was pretty common of lefties since there's not a lot of stuff to accommodate us in the first place and we pretty much have to adapt, but most of the lefties I met cannot use their right hands for shit!

      ...

      So basically, I'm awesome.

Whether on sound or false reasoning, I never identified foremost with this born, dying entity. From the age of about 4 or 5 when I started adding up my experiences, I came to the conclusion that I didn't 'come from' the life I was living, but that I had lived complete lives before and had 'chosen' in some sense to be here now. My philosophy/identity has shifted considerably in the meantime, but always on that foundation.
If you have a sense of caring for others, you will manifest a kind of inner strength in spite of your own difficulties and problems. With this strength, your own problems will seem less significant and bothersome to you. By going beyond your own problems and taking care of others, you gain inner strength, self-confidence, courage, and a greater sense of calm.Dalai Lama

Man, as I remember, it. Synesthesia where another sense is associated with taste is one of the more rare ones, I consider you lucky. I have seen music in both colors and patterns, but it was on acid in a pitch black room, easily my favorite thing I have ever done on any drug.

Along the same lines, each letter and number has its own personality to me. Some people associate this with synesthesia, but personally I think it derived from me being and artistic child, and being bored in school because it was too easy. Taking notes was like doodling in itself.

I also have one compulsive behavior that I have to do to get by. I have to touch my solar plexus to restore balance, in a similar way to tkdyo. If I up doing something it is not so bad, but if I am sitting, or doing nothing for any given period I need to do it quite often. I always need that even feeling, like when I crack one knuckle, they all get cracked, or when I touch between one finger, I do it to all of them.

thats pretty damn cool actually, im semi-ambidexterous also, when i broke my arm I learned to do a bunch of stuff with my left, except writing

but yea, something weird about me...hmm

I triple or sometimes quadrouple check every lightswitch in my house and every alarm clock and window and other random buttons or switches

kinda OCD if you ask me, also when outdoors sometimes i feel dizzy or lightheaded, fear of open spaces a little bit...

Hmm.. I think there's a thread similar to this...

-I turn golden when I tan, and I only burn on my shoulders.
-I'll remember stuff from years ago, but forget stuff I did this morning.
-I'm in Alg. 2 and Trig, and I'm only a freshman

And more when I can think of them.

My fingers are double jointed. The joints in my fingers closest to the tips bend unintentionally because of it. Kind of like this (http://sizzlesays.files.wordpress.co...1/hand-005.jpg) but my hands are more attractive than that. Lol. When I lean on my palms the wrong way, I can't bend my fingers at all.
