Thread: Who here is in band/in a band

I'm in marching band at my high school. I'm a squad leader in the trumpet section. I've got band camp all next week from 8AM - 4:30PM. Time to teach some freshmen!

I play guitar. There's a group of friends that I jam with every weekend, but I wouldn't call it a band...

We go from 8-4 with an hour break for lunch in there, next week mon-fri then the following mon-wed. I've been trombone section leader all 4 years lol and i know exactly what you mean by "teaching" freshmen. (Gotta make sure that they know their plume is on backwards hehehe)

Our drum major this year is the directors daughter and assistant DM is another girl who things she is cool and this is gonna be the worst year because we are trying to do a big Cirque de Soleil show but the DMs can't even hit wood blocks in time with each other. We also have to make an audition video for Disney World and it's gonna be so hard because half the kids either suck or don't care.

I also play baritone and I have a trumpet and since its basically the same fingering wise i can use it but can't read trumpet music.

I play guitar and bass and a little bit of keyboards/synth and drums too.

I do marching, concert, and jazz band in school and me and some buddies jam with some songs but we aren't exactly a band.

Band camp for me was ppretty crazzy last week 9-9 with one 2 hour break

I play guitar, and after this summer is over I'm getting together with two other guitarists, a bassist and a drummer to start a band.

I'm in the school concert band.../pep band/marching band.
but we only march once a year at the parade. This year, we're playing "I get Around" by the Beach Boys while marching.

Seriously now, I'm with a guitarist and we jam every so often, but I prefer my solo bass jam sessions.

I was leader of the drumline before I graduated.

Clarinet. I've played it for 7 years. Going to be 8 years soon... I would've joined marching band, but I wouldn't have been able to make all the meetings... And our band teacher is really strict...

Our band has way too many clarinets.
But we have a really nice teacher.

I'm a music major at wichita state univeristy. I play jazz with one girl for school. I also play folk music in my own time. I play with a group of friends (bass, guitar, djimbae, sandblocks, tambourine, shakers) We play some pretty interesting stuff. I write all the music. I play guitar in my school's jazz band, but on the side I sing and play bass, drums, piano and auxillary percussion.

Trying to learn the harmonica wanna play some oldschool prison blues.

Have played guitar for six years, am in a band.
Also like to fiddle with teh keyboard and drums.

Played the flute for like 3-4 years. Was the only guy flute player too, so I got to sit next to all the girls :3

I have played clarinet for... five years.
