Thread: Who here loves the rain?

I hate rain while I'm in it, I like rain while I'm watching it from inside. And I LOVE thunderstorms. Watching them in the dark, counting the time between flash and thunder... Good times, good times.

There's nothing like sitting inside against the glass watching rain come down outside. It's best when it is warm and there is no wind like a quiet summer shower. Falling into a lake or something... lol.

What about being outside during a warm shower? That's good too.

I love it when it rains! And thunderstorms - especially at night while I'm laying in bed with the windows open.
And I think a few other people like storms too...

I love rain when its cloudy outside
I hate the hell out of rain when its sunny outside
I hate wet, sunny days in general
I love cloudy days
I love wet coudy days
regular old sunny days are ok.
A stray, inland hurricane/tropical storm is semi-fun (for me at least), but it has its downsides too.

Hail is pretty cool when you're not paying to have a bunch of people come hammer on your roof all day for the next week.
Hail hurts when you think the storm's past and you've gone out to grab the honkin one that just took out your favorite bush and a stray basketball sized one clubs you in the kidney.

Blizzards are fun, because when you get your power knocked out, then you can just move the food in your fridge outside and it stays alright.
Blizzard after-maths aren't cool if you're walking outside and the the 75 pounds of snow on the roof jumps you.

Tornadoes aren't cool if they're blowing up stuff outside at three in the morning.

I love rain

I live in southern california so it doesnt happen as often as it should

Rain is not so bad but I hate lightning; there is a chance it wipes out the electricity in my house, thus I have to shut off my computer when it starts.

I love the rain. There were like, two days this year at school where I was outside and it literally just started pouring like crazy, so if you stepped out in it, you were soaked in about three seconds. So, myself along with a ton of other people, decided to go running in the rain. Ran around the school several times, extremely soaking wet.... The teachers were pissed because we were getting everything wet in class.... Fun days.... Thunder and lightning storms rock too.

Hehe I love rain and bad weather in general. It has been an obsession of mine since I was like 13. I had been outside playing and a massive storm moved in really quick. Before I could get home the sky had become almost pitch black (It was around 2PM) I looked up and beheld what at the time I could only describe as a massive swirling abyss. Today I know I was underneath the fiercely rotating wall cloud of a supercell thunderstorm. I guess I was lucky it didn't drop a tornado right on me. Lightning was everywhere and it is one of my most intense memories. It mesmerized me then and to this day it still does. Actually on April 14 of this year a series of quite intense storms moved through our area. They began sounding the tornado sirens and I thought it wise to take my brand new (literally, bought it that day) digital camera and film away. Well I had to use the video recording feature of my camera because it was far too dark to take actual pictures. I hoped that I would catch a lucky strike of lightning and see something. Indeed I did. The following image is a freeze frame from the 13 minutes of footage I took that night(hence the crappy resolution). This image got me on the biggest news channel in the state. Note: that its not officially a tornado, in fact after my initial zeal and reviewing the image a bunch of times and doing further research I would say theres a 75% chance its not even a funnel cloud. The meteorologist at WTHR-NBC Indianapolis says "... maybe some rotation, sometimes they can be very confusing. This does look like a possible funnel maybe not down on the ground..."

Roughly 10 minutes after that image the storm hit my house. Tornado or not it was powerful as hell. I live in an apartment building. It has two outside doors and then the main house doors are inside. When it hit the doors all exploded open. At this point I have some nice footage of my feet as I ran for cover. It lasted probably 10 minutes and made some of the creepiest noises I've ever heard. Whether it was an actual tornado or not, I don't know. I tend to think this image is of an especially pointy wall cloud. I do know it caused massive damage to the town. One entire house was leveled and hundreds of trees were tossed about. Even pieces of pavement were overturned by trees that fell nearby. Chunks of peoples roofs were deposited miles from their homes/businesses. It was a night I'll never forget.

well... I love the rain... sometimes when it rains real hard in the middle of the night i sneak out of the house, open the garge manually so i dont wake my parents, drive out into the rain,pull the car over, pul the moon roof back and just watch and listen to the rain as it hits the top of my car... maybe thats wierd i dk...

My absolute favorite weather is when it is sprinkling and sunny at the same time. I just love to stand out in that with the cool rain and the warmth of the sun on my face looking up with my eyes closed. It is truely peaceful.

Oh, me too, I love the rain. I love walking home in summer when it&#39;s raining, with no rainjacket or umbrella, and just getting absolutely drenched.

rain means no painting. So I suddenly love the rain&#33;

I love the rain, and wet weather in general. I love it even if I&#39;m caught in it. I remember one time, me, a few friends and a couple of family members got caught in heavy rain, while half way up penshaw hill. It washed the path away that we were walking on, that was a laugh.

I especially love dense fog, shrouding every thing. It makes traveling much more fun.

I like the rain especially when it&#39;s all hot and sticky like today. Dunno why but I like lying on my bed going to sleep while hearing the rain hit against the window, seems to make me all calm and relaxed.

The only problem is over here in England it rains all the time and gets annoying.

Most people seem to have a strange double-relationship going on with rain; they all say they lovelovelove&#33; it until it actually puts a damper on something they want to do, like go to an amusement park or have a picnic. Not that I&#39;m accusing anyone here of that, but... yeah.

I <3 rain so much that I&#39;ve studied precipitations maps of the US and compared them to an atlas to try and find ideal places to live in that receive tons of precip and have a large enough population to support all of life&#39;s modern ameneties (Olive Garden, Wal-Mart, and a local arcade). Prognosis? I see the rain-specked towers of Vancouver&#39;s skyline in my perfect future...

Seriously, if I had it my way it would be either raining, thundering, or just plain cloudy 98% of the time. The sun is a nice novelty to look at every now and then, but it gets boring fast. Rain is moody, personal, and dynamic - so, so much better than clear weather.

I love the rain although not enough to change my life for it like Spamtek over there. I remember numerous timeswhen I was little I would run outside in the middle of a thunder storm and just run around for hours. Nowadays I love it when it starts pouring when everyone is outside so that, with my hands in my pockets I can watch them run around and scramble to get inside while I just stand there embracing the rain. Oh what great times it is when it rains.

Rain..tranquil I&#39;m with you all on this one.
If ever I should be outdoors, I swear I will admire the sky. I will listen. With luck the sounds I here will be peaceful. A river sloshing against the banks, Rain falling against the roof. Even when the clouds hang heavy and dark. Even when the rain is plastering my hat to my head I will give thanks that I am drenched in rain rather than fluorescent light. I will remember to admire the sky.

Yeah. I fall asleep easy when it rains, because it&#39;s cold &#39;n rainy outside while I&#39;m cozy and warm in my bed.. ^^

I just love the rain when it&#39;s warm inside and I&#39;m inside.

By the way, it&#39;s also fun to, at like.. 2-3 AM just walk around outside while it&#39;s raining with a whole bunch of people, especially when you&#39;re.. not sober.

When i&#39;m inside with a hot cup of tea, the rains great. If i&#39;d have to choose between cold wet weather, and boiling hot sunny weather i&#39;d probably still prefer the rain. It&#39;s easier to warm up on a cold day than it is to cool down on a hot day (for those of us without air-con). Plus i&#39;m used to the rain since I live in England. I like it how it is here.

the rains nice every once in a while... or when you can just listen to it from inside but i get ur point spamtek. no, nobody wants to be caught in the rain every single day and have to go outside and practice and work and do everything in the rain. i think they just mean every once in while, like i do. by the way spam, calling everyone on their conformity through non conformity is not a good way to make freinds. its a good way to piss people off. people dont like being told theyre being asses, especially when they are being asses.
