I saw this a few weeks ago. Yeah, two Nascar drivers fighting... yawn. Was it really that exciting? It only lasted a few seconds.

... Slipped off, slamming into the concrete.
I don't think that was on purpose.
I have to agree with fresh brains on this one. Even with the occational 30 second fight or 5-car crashes, nascar is still just a bunch of cars going around a track, that is always the same oval shape, for hours.

Haha. You guys are missing the point. The heading was a rhetorical question. EVERYONE knows NASCAR is boring as hell.
But how often do you see someone dropkick someone through their windshield??
And Fresh, since when is someone smashing into the concrete only entertaining if they meant to do it?? Hahaha
Guess I'm just easily amused.![]()

Yes. NASCAR IS BORING. We all know this. Let's not insult the integrity of this thread by letting the overwhelming influence to cry out to the Heavens how much NASCAR sucks salty donkey balls distract us from the fact that the man just drop-kicked the mother fucker through his Windshield!!"
Hahaha.

Network nanny blocking that as 'Streaming Video'.
I live about 15 miles from a NASCAR track. Bristol, the worlds fastest half mile. I have to agree, it is pretty boring stuff. Most people go to socialize though. Bristol seats 160K people and adds millions to our local economy.
All things even though, I prefer drag racing.

I'll admit, that would-be drop kick was pretty funny... It would've been better, though, if the winshield had actually broken and he had gotten stuck!
Have any of you even BEEN to a NASCAR race?? It doesn't sound like it.
I myself thought it was boring until my hubby took me to Michigan International Speedway to watch a race. We had seats in the main grandstands, and there were about 200,000 people there.
After watching a car FLY past you at almost 200mph, you won't think it's boring - especially when you witness a horrendous crash. Trust me. And if you're hearing that from me, that's saying something. You simply can't appreciate it until you see it.
I'll definitely give it that much, Burns. I saw a NASCAR race when I was 10 - along with sprint cars and.... trucks of some sort, kinda like pickups - and it was pretty awesome.
NASCAR is not the fastest growing sport because it's boring. When most people take the time to actually watch, and more importantly listen to what is going on during a race -- the strategy, driver and crew conversations, frantic pit stops (and the mistakes that go with them), and the unpredictable elements (crashes, blowouts, engine failures, overheating, miscellaneous mechanical failures, etc. etc. etc...), they find that it is fascinating and exciting.
How many other sporting events regularly draw crowds of over 100,000 people?
Lots of people say "you only watch to see the crashes", but I have to honestly say that one of the most exciting races I ever watched was 400 miles at Talladega with NO caution flags.
Oh, and while the race in that clip was a stock car race, it wasn't technically NASCAR.

Nascar is NOT boring!! (Although i gotta say Cascar is)
At first of all, that vid wasnt from nascar!! its from some minor league race in Akron, Ohio! those cars barely make it to 130mph!
In fact Nascar is the ONLY American sport i like. fuck that football and baseball shit. cmon, 43 stock cars going 180 with imment danger around an oval isn't fun!! jeez.
An Idea. A single idea from the human mind can build cities. An idea can transform the world and rewrite all the rules.

Can't argue with that. I've worked on the Daytona Speedway, but never during a race. I've been to Supercross and Monster Truck racing, but never seen a NASCAR race up close. Let's just say, from a television only perspective, NASCAR sucks salty donkey balls.
But give me some mixed martial arts, as far as sports preference.![]()

I love how the guy in the car jumps out, pushes everybody aside and lines the other guy up.
And since this thread seems to have changed direction... i can appreciate the speed element of NASCAR racing, but watching it on TV has got to be one of the most boring experiences ever. It's just round and round and round and round in a circle. Maybe it would be different live, but i'm not that eager to find out.
V8 Supercars, now there's some good motor racing. Strategy, turns, crashes, speed, pit stops, 'disagreements', and beefy V8 engines. It may not have the speed of NASCAR, but such speed would be unusable on the tracks they race, with the cars they race.
Not that i'm overly fond of any motor sport to be honest.
Now see, I find drag racing boring. No strategy, no discernable driving skill -- just mash the gas and hope you have more HP than the guy in the next lane.
*sigh* It's SO much more than that, but whatever.
I don't see a huge difference. NASCAR has all those things you mentioned. The only big difference is that NASCAR mostly races on ovals -- though they do race a couple of road courses each season; they are hardly "unusable" on those types of tracks.
