You don't actually mean the 'Novus Ordo Mundi' stuff on the dollar-bill? That doesn't say unreligious. It means 'New World Order' or something like that.

And by the way, the founding fathers Wanted America to be a secular state. Probably most of them were atheist. All the 'one nation under god' was added after 1900.

I think we're making fun of the fact that all discussion here turns into religious debate. I could care less who believes in god and who doesn't.

I think it's just the fact that there are some very religious people here in America that might not have a "God", par se, and the name offends them.

Actually it wasn't until the '50s, put into action by Eisenhower to distinguish the US from the "godless pinko commie bastards". Gotta love the Cold War.

No it isn't. If you are a communist bastard, for some reason you don't have the right all of a sudden to be equal and free.

Top Gear over in the UK did a show on this recently--
They had three guys on the show drive through Alabama. The catch was, they could paint anything they wanted onto the other driver's cars--you lose points for being shot or lynched, but get bonus points for getting the others shot or lynched.
So they painted "Man-loving is okay! (I'm bi)" on one, "Hilary For Pres/Nascar Sucks" on another, and "Country Western Sucks" on the last one.
They got attacked by rednecks at the first gas station and were pelted by rocks. It was rather amusing, if sad and backwards.
