or maybe the LD4ALL have a different type of community.
Dont worry about it.
It may be all in my head but it felt like a carma thing to me. I had visisted LD4all over the last couple of days and if somone did respond to a post they seemed very deffensive. They usually would skip over what I had to say anyhow.
Maybe I come across as presumtuous or overbearing.
Maybe they had a grudge because I was aDV castaway?![]()

I think if ld4all members suddenly appeared here, we would be just as surprised and a bit "off" about it.
i think it has a lot to do with how familiar you are with the people in the forum. When I started posting here (and still, to some degree), a lot of my posts would be ignored entirely.

Maybe that's why they do not like me?
O_O I don't know.
I felt welcome when I was there, but then again, a lot of the people over there already know me?
you must be the change you wish to see in the world...

I'd second the knowing thing, also its like any specialist forum when you have a low post count and are a newbie then people assume (wrongly in many cases) that you don't know what your really talking about if you put forward ideas or advice on the forums main topic.
I got ignored when I was starting out people were talking about shared dreaming and I was saying shouldn't you try to make a real place that people could meet up in for shared dreams? I offered to do the 3D graphics and everything... zippo... so I got pissy and did it all myself.![]()

The Lucid Crossroads is a shared dreamspace for all lucid dreamers, directions on the website, join us dream side.
i went there and i felt welocome and most of the people were nice but i stayed close to the DV cast aways tooh well im just likeable and snobby ,im a tool

I'm sure there's some reasonable explanation, Howetz...
Anyway, well, I just like to say for the record I'd wait five years for DV to come back if it went down again, rather than going to another forum...I belong to too many, and don't really lurk let alone post enough at any others to really be a part of their communities...

LD4all? Never heard of it. I might go on to take a look, but I like things the way they are right here... the foreplay between How and Nina is quite amuzing -- ahem, ahem... I mean AMUSING

haha, your avatar is scary, joe. I saw it blink the first time, ignored it, saw it second time, and was wondering if it was me. So i stared at it for a few minutes.
Im convinced that it DOES actualy blink.

Thanks, Damascus - I had a couple people comment on the blinking thing.
Back to the post topic:
Actually, now that I look back, to this day no one has ever responded to my very first post on Dreamviews! I could have easily given up, but I didn't (and I'm glad for that)
The post, by the way is here. Not that I expect anyone to actually respond now... (hint, hint!)
Howetzer, perhaps you read one of the debates. They get a bit viscous there sometimes.
I think it is a shame that Dream Views and LD4all don't have a closer relationship with each other like Sealife does with LD4all. It means that there is one forum here that has loads of LD knowledge and another forum over there with LD knowledge and not much is being done to exchange it.
I know that there may be work being done on a forum that will hopefully provide a place where DV, LD4all and Sealife members can exchange more lucid dreaming information.![]()
You are right. It was a dabatable topic. And a member name was Furious georgeOriginally posted by Technodreamer

You have a good point about the two Forums. Two worlds so close yet so far away at the same time.

Well, let's not be too hasty here, I mean, it's nice to have some intimacy with other members. I still consider myself new here and I like the fact that there's a handfull of members that I can already get a sense of their personality from their posts (and quickly recognize them from their avatars). I think if you were to instantly add another whole website's members we would lose some of that.
But that's just me, others would say the more the merrier.
I think a quick and easy way to combine these sights is simply to share the member lists. DV members could sign onto the other sights using their same screen names and passwords and vice versa.
I've never really given an idea like this too much thought, but I don't think it would work.
Sticking them (the forums) together "too much" would be forcing members that chose Dreamviews over ld4all and vice-versa to consort with the other one anyway, to an extent. You just cannot stick two giant forums together, two different sets of inside jokes, communities, people and policies and expect good to come of it - sounds more like wishful thinking to me. The praticality of the idea isn't that good. I would expect some hurt feelings more than anything.
Right now I think ld4all and Dreamviews have a fine relationship. There is no spitting venom or hurt, hostile feelings on either board. We get along well enough - you can hardly expect them to go in arm in arm though - they are two different forums altogether. And contary to popular belief, there never was some sort of Dreamviews vs. ld4all war/hate/problem. Somebody got the wrong message, it seems.
Even if we overcome all of that, the actual amount of information there is to share isn't that much. I mean, everything we've got is just an tangent of an WILD, MILD, etc method. I'm taking a look at the ld4all site - I'm not an active member so evidently I may not being doing justice when I say this - but it's the same there. Sure there are a couple of topics that might be mildy intresting - but would it really be worth to open up all this communication? I don't think so.
We are not losing massive amounts of knowledge, or anything, by not communicating with ld4all actively. I like ld4all. It is an forum. But I chose Dreamviews over ld4all. I like it at the distance it is - it's perfectly within reach and I can easily go there right now, sign up and talk. It dosen't infringe upon my Dreamviews experience - it's another community I just didn't want to go to. I don't want to now. If I did, I would go talk there.
To summarize, I don't think it would work. If it did, I'd expect it to either go stale or just end up a flamepit.
If it ended up in the flame pit then it would show that DV and LD4all do still have some kind of resistance between each other. I also don't see why it would end in arguments.
The idea is not to mesh the forums at all, but to create a gateway to which DV, LD4all, Sealife, FishBowl, Dream moods and the rest of the dreaming forums can exchange their dreaming knowledge so that the best parts of all techniques are there. Yes, we all do have similar techniques, but each forum has its own perfections.
Perhaps by sharing these perfections we can accelerate faster towards our goal: Lucid Dreaming
There never was one. And it's not exactly hate directed at ld4all I'm talking about.Originally posted by Technodreamer

Easy enough. A miniature version of this is Beyond Dreaming (here) - there's the group that believe in physic stuff, and those that do not (there is more than the standard black and white, but for the sake of argument simplicity I'm making it this way). On occasion, somebody gets upset. Now, ld4all and sealife have got quite a few mayan-friendly-physic dudes, as far as I'm aware - so it would be on a large scale.I also don't see why it would end in arguments.[/b]
Oh. Then I think it's completely pointless then. Make a gateway why? You can look at the other forums now with about 5 mouse clicks and exchange ideas with a couple more. Why the effort? I am failing to see decent justification for this. The idea is not to mesh the forums at all, but to create a gateway to which DV, LD4all, Sealife, FishBowl, Dream moods and the rest of the dreaming forums can exchange their dreaming knowledge so that the best parts of all techniques are there. Easy! It would help towards the ultimate goal: Lucid Dreaming. How? Through a better and more active exchaneg of information.
Look, I still don't see any information to exchange. Also, this is the internet. You can go to ld4all, read some posts, get a good idea from them, come back here and talk about it. There is no need for elaborate gateway setups.
