      Writing a cv

Hi, i was wondering if you people could give your opinion..
I am applying for another job, and have to write a cv.
I know some companys like it to be in your own handwriting, but this company needs you to be good with microsoft word, to get the job, so do you think it would be better to do it using word?
Also, which font, is usually used within companys. Currently i am usind Arial, but i know they dont usually use that..

      Also, i have
      PERSONAL DETAILS :
      PROFILE :
      EMPLOYMENT :
      TRAINING COURSES :
      QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION :
      SKILLS / QUALITIES :

Any other vital information i should need?

If anyone can help it would be well appreciated.

      Thank you all in advance
      Caroline

In my opinion, a CV looks more sophisticated and perfect if you write on a computer. Also, you are mentioning that the company want people who is good in MS Word, so showing your abilities in Word is very relevant in this case.
However, when you write down your name at the bottom, (signature), do that by handwriting.

About the font. Choose a easy-to-read font. That's most important, I think.

      Well, that's my opinions.
      Are you dreaming?

Definitely use an easy-to-read font, but don't go fancy. Arial would do just fine. I'll second the hand-written signature, it's a good touch.
In this crazy world if they don't consider you mad, then you have no confirmation of your own sanity, do you?
Imagine if this crazy world thought you were sane?! Oh my God, worst nightmare!

Try Verdana, that's usually a nice font to use.

Times New Roman's the standard font isn't it? That or Arial, but I don't like Arial.

What is "cv?" I'm guessing a Brit term for resume, but what does it stand for?
If you have a sense of caring for others, you will manifest a kind of inner strength in spite of your own difficulties and problems. With this strength, your own problems will seem less significant and bothersome to you. By going beyond your own problems and taking care of others, you gain inner strength, self-confidence, courage, and a greater sense of calm.Dalai Lama

i think a lot of people outside of the u.s. still call a resume a 'cv'. (even though we stopped doing that a while ago) a lot of people i know who were born and raised somewhere else usually refer to is as cv.

also, we do things differently here in u.s. we certainly don't sign our resumes, forget about writing them by hand.

here's a link i plucked off of google, just to give you an idea:
      the 'science' of resmue writing

i don't know how much of it applies to how you guys do it in europe. maybe it will help you out, i dunno. all i know is that we go 'deep'.
