      New Dream Journal System!!

Witness the beginning of a new era of Dream Journals...

...introducing our brand new blog based Dream Journal system!!!

      What will change?

Instead of creating and posting to a thread in the DJ Forum, each user has now it's own blog-like Dream Journal. Finally the times are over where you had to post your precious dreams and comments in a "random" forum thread. Now they will get the individualized structure and attention they deserve!

      What are my benefits?

The most outstanding benefits for you are:

      • DJs are centralized and will get much more attention
      • Easy categorization of your dreams (lucid, non-lucid, false awakening, etc) including search function
      • Tag your dreams (perfect for dream signs, etc) and search for others' tagged dreams
      • DJ Entries and Comments are clearly separated to put the main accent on the entries
      • Easily customize your DJ style (sidebars)
      • Full integration in the website to provide stats and easy accessability from everywhere
      • DJ entries are shown and linked in your postbits
      • and many many more!!!

Can you tell me how it works?

Of course! Just check out our video-tutorial and our picture-tutorial. If you still have any questions, feel free to ask them here.

What about the old Dream Journals?

The transition to the new system is being made in two steps:

      1. As of now, the DJ forum stays open for new posts but is locked for new threads. So everyone who wants to make a new DJ will have to do it with the new system but the old DJs are still open for new posts.

      2. After like 3-4 weeks, when the authors had time to get accustomed to the new system, the DJ forum will be closed for new posts. It will stay online though and serve as the "DJ Archive". Even then the authors will have the option to move entries to the new system using the "Copy to DJ" function anytime.

And now, have fun setting up your own Dream Journal Blog!!

Sekhmet, Naiya, PRo and 7 others like this.

      Dream Journal User Guide
This guide will show all the features of the new Dream Journal system, and how to use them.
The images are all resized, as they are too big to fit. Just click one if it isn't clear enough to view the original image.

Also check out the video tutorial:

Going into the Dream Journal Section
When you click the "Dream Journal" tab at the top, you are taken to a page with the most recent Dream Journal Entries.

      - Then a search box, where you can search for Dream Journal entries.
      - Then there is a list of categories (lucid, non-lucid, nightmare, false awakening, memorable, task of the month, task of the year) - Just click a category and it will take you to all DJ entries where the authors have chosen to put their entry under that category.

      Visiting Other People's Dream Journals
There are many different ways to find someone's Dream Journal:

      1) Via Recent Entries. Two ways to do so shown in this screen shot:

      2) To view full DJ from a single entry just click the user's name at the top as shown here:

      3) Via forum posts. Two ways As shown in this screen shot:

      4) Via user profile. A few ways as shown in this screen shot:

      4) Via "Members DJ's", as shown below:

      ---------------------------------------------

You can leave comments on Dream Journal entries. It is just like on the forum, at the bottom there is a box that looks like the quick reply box from the forum (As shown below) and if you click "Go Advanced", it takes you to a bit that works just the same as the Advanced reply in the forum.

You can also subscribe to a Dream Journal.

      Settings

When you click on "Settings", the page that comes up is where you change the description of your dream journal.

You can change what widgets appear and what order they appear. As shown here:

And you can make your own one too, just click that "Add Custom Block" button, and it brings up a box like this:
Spoiler for just the normal posting box:

A good use for this is to put the lucid/non-lucid color code key in there, like this:

And there are plenty other possible uses for it.

You can view your own DJ stats as shown:

Managing and viewing your DJ subscriptions:
