ive also been trying to AP without much luck, (so i dont really think i can help)
you just have to keep trying until you get it i guess, it will happen eventually.
Hello all,
Ive been trying to Astral Project for about a month. I will go to bed thinking about Out of Body experiences but for some reason I cant hold on to the thought before I fall asleep. I had some progress a few days ago. I was taking an afternoon nap and woke up in my dream. I then found myself in a bed but obvious dream setting. I went to sleep in my dream state and I started to feel a violent shake within me. I then proceeded with the rest of my dream of hoarding pizzas in a bed with a crown on..odd.. (no im not fat.. 5' 11" and 155 lbs). I just need some suggestions :

I've had spontaneous AP's since I was six. I've tried to induce them at will with mixed results. Instead of the traditional way of trying to hold consciousness once you begin slipping into sleep, try to simply give yourself suggestions before bedtime. Say to yourself "I will have an AP tonight." "I'm not fearful of having an AP". Pretty much the same thing as programming yourself to remember your dreams. Also plan ahead of time what you will do, or where you will attempt to "will" yourself to go if you do succeed. I've had better luck personally with this technique. Many times the main reason people don't achieve conscious AP or OBE's is a subconscious fear of them and of losing control.
Everyone AP's at night but most of us don't remember it. We disalign with our physical bodies sometimes only a fraction of an inch and sometimes by several feet as way for our physical bodies to recharge energetically while we sleep. The general rule of thumb is that the more depleted your physical body is the further you will disalign. So it is only natural that many people report having AP's or OBE's while fasting, while ill, or while suffering from intense periods of nervousness or anxiety. In fact tripping over an object and stumbling to the ground too quickly can also produce a momentary disalignment with the physical body. But I don't recommend any of these methods since they are a little too extreme.
If you want to stick with the method you are using I would only suggest you attempt this when you aren't super tired. Try it instead during the middle of the day when it may be easier for you to remain alert as your physical body relaxes.
I hope this helps a little. I think different techniques work for different people. Whichever method you decide to experiment with just don't stress about it too much. That can produce quite the opposite effect.
Take Care and Good Luck![]()
Ask and you shall know.

Huh, that's intresting - to me, at least. When you're ill or a bit "medically dodgy", I feel a bit floaty sometimes. But I think it's just the feeling of "being sick", which it probably is, in my opinon. I can't be bothered to elaborate what I mean, nevermind. So it is only natural that many people report having AP's or OBE's while fasting, while ill, or while suffering from intense periods of nervousness or anxiety.[/b]![]()
