Thread: Is Astral Projection and OOB dangerous?

I'm not so good in this stuff but it seems like I've asked a question somehow similar so if anyone can answer me at the same time than you...

My mom told me that she had been told that if you do a OBE you could get stock out of your body. Is that true. So if someone could answer Shannyball and me that would be really nice

so far ive never heard of any one that got hurt? but i heard about some getting a little scared...hehe.... i have just recently began to try for an obe and ld again...i was trying for 6 months and had great progres.....but then i sarted to smoke the weed again!!!NOT GOOD FOR THE RECALL SKILLS!!! so i stopped again....two days later the recall came back so from now on i will only smoke the weed in dream world....hehe

Nope. Don't worry, you are fine. Everyone knows that the only way the cord gets severed is if you are already dead to begin with, not the other way around. You cannot die during an OBE--it is just a dream.

AP scares me because it means the material world view that science has taught, is very very wrong, and it means the old mystics were right - which is very very very scary. because they believed, unless you reach a higher state of being BEFORE death - you can wake up in the astral, dead and not realize it. and continue to live a dream life, even go to work, poop, pee, shower and never realize you were in an illusionary world. STILL GO TO WORK??? SCARY

but, the whole get trapped outside of your body. you gotta ask yourself. who can spread this rumor? I mean, if you got trapped outside of your body, YOURE DEAD. You can't exactly come back and warn others "uh, I got trapped outside of my body"

its kinda like the black pearl, if everyone who sees the black pearl dies, then whos spreading the stories??

Well, the way my mom said it, it sounded like someone knew someone that was trying OBEs and one day died for no reason during his sleep so the person assumed he died by staying stock out of his body and told someone that told my mom or some complicated shit like that. ANyways, Thank you for the answers.

There are some things to be wary of when Astrally Projecting, but you really don't have to worry about your "cord" being severed. There's a LOT protecting it. As for posession, that only happens when you have lost too much of your soul through trauma, illness, etc. and have not been able to replenish yourself with positive energy or retrieved that part that was lost. Posession happens because people LET it happen; not through Journeying or Astral Projection.

However, if you are concerned about it, simply call on your Guides/Guardian Angels/Allies/ whatever you want to call them to protect you. Before you leave your body, envision surrounding yourself in a pure white or golden light. For believers in Angels, the Archangel Michael is a superb protector when called upon.

It's amazing what people believe. Faith can be such an enigma sometimes. But I suppose that's why they call it "faith" instead of "science".

You also call quarters for protection?

It really is amazing what people want to believe. There's a genuine desire in pretty much all mankind that wants to believe in something other than what we see. Plus, I think it makes the believers feel empowered.

In a sense. When I Journey or Pray, I call the Spirits: The Four Directions, Mother Earth and Father Sky. This is less for protection though and more for an "audience" if you will. Protection comes from my Guides and Allies who walk with me in all things.

Generally I would classify myself as a Homo Sapien...though sometimes reluctantly.

If you mean my Spiritual viewpoints though, I follow a traditional Native American (Lakhota) Path influenced by Toltec and Buddhist traditions.

I want to set the record straight, I have never, in all my research, come across a case of astral death. Ever.

People claim they see beings like demons and other malicious things but they are harmless. They're just trying to suck energy out of you, and can do no physical damage. Just don't give them permission, block yourself off from them.

So... what happens after they've "sucked the energy out of you"? Do you just go on your merry way as hale and whole as if it hadn't happened? What IS this energy "they" are sucking out of you anyway and why do you have it if you don't need it in the Tonal existence? Does the loss of this energy have no physical manifestations or ramifications?

Guess I'm just curious what your "research" has told you about that.

My mother used to go to yoga seminars and she would meditate there. I once watched some video about meditation and after watching it I wanted to try meditating('cause it was about OBE's) XD But when I started to try, my mom said to me that I shouldn't try 'cause some spirits can posses me O_O She herself could only meditate while in seminars(It's like group meditation ) 'cause then her yoga teacher can protect all the people who are meditating
But recently I found out that you can just call up your guides/protectors/allies/whatever and they'll protect you (or you can just protect yourself...)
