Its a contradiction, that much is clear. To choose, one must have free will. It is oxymoronic to think of the concept of choosing fate.

And dont pay much attention to anyone or anything who claims to control your life, because you have ultimate say, and at best can only influence you. Your choices shape yourself and the world around you. Free will is the sum of who you are, wether you are angry (first you have to get angry, and to do that you need to make conscience decision do you not? ) loving, kind, holy, evil, or anything else.
