      dream levitating

This is a question from my girlfriend.

"When I was younger I would have waking experiences, where I would be dreaming I was levitating, and when I awoke it seemed as if I dropped onto my bed and ceased to levitate in the waking world. Has anyone ever experience this? Do you think it is possible or just my waking senses playing with me?"

Well... I truly dunno if its possible, any way, you can get tricked, as feeling your falling while entering a dream, so it could be that.

People tend to wake right as their falling asleep with a jerk. I think there's a name for it but I forget. Usually, they feel like they're falling. But the jerk that your body does as you wake up could definitely feel like you've just fallen from a few feet above the bed.

Called 'hypnic jerks.' Happens in alpha state, when you first start to fall asleep. It's sometimes accompanied with a vivid image (falling, tripping, playing a sport, etc.). Great debunking, Alex!
