      Fake OBEs

Ok, after extensive conversation with Lucidapple/Jeff I have come to realize that I am not having OBEs, or anything even close to them...but rather what I am experiencing is from being in that trance-like state before wake and dreaming. He also mentioned that most (like 99%) of OBEs are fake OBEs, and that real OBEs come from deep sleep, very deep sleep, and that few people can actually be aware while in this deep sleep state....which is why people usually have them during near death experiences. So that's it. Fake. Oh well...

Yeah... but you have to start some where.

I was talking to someone yesterday online. They were telling me how a friend who had taken the recommended dosage of St. Johns Wort found themselves floating out of body near the ceiling and desperately trying to get back in for like Two Hours! (I forget if he said two hours or "hours" as in more than that, but for at least two hours.)
Before we all run out to the nearest Walmart or Health Store to get some "Wort" though, we should remember that St Johns Wort is taken for depression, which itself may have played a big part in the event. People who are stressed or depressed tend to have the sleep paralysis and resulting experiences, Like ol' Edgar Allen Poe did.
If physicists say that matter is frozen light, and Stars symbolize both angels and people alike in the bible, then what does that make you?(angel)?

Yeah i watched that conversation that you and Jeff had, he's a very wise man!
It does seem as if we are all in an illusion, our beliefs fueled by misinterpretations and misguiding information. I still think there was one time i had a real obe, but the rest i think may have been in that trance state thing. Jeff if your here, post your thoughts
      n00bs i love you

I know almost nothing about OBEs. But my friends dad had one apparently - in a near death experience like you said. Once when he was little, he fell into the lake and was drowning (he couldn't swim). All of a sudden he was over above the trees some distance away, and was watching himself drown from above. He saw his dad pulling him out of the water before he flashed back into his body. Hearing and reading more about these have made this idea more appealing to me. I'd love to experience something like this.... hmmm perhaps not in a near death situation though, but I shall read more about this... In fact, I think I will right now!

      Cheers,
      Dylan
