      My AP journey:

Let me start on where I stand; I have been patiently practicing AP for around three years now but it has been casual and misguided. For the past week I have been practicing 3-4 times a day and have just barely achieved SP last night.

I have had hypnic jerks for a number of years now and this seems to have left a debilitating effect on my efforts. Nevertheless, I did experience SP from a conscious state.

I have an abnormally high level of self-motivation which coincidentally is one of my vices. If I know what I need to do, I can achieve it remarkably quickly (Reading how to get into SP and doing it one try after). Of course there are many other proofs to my mentality, but that's an example.

Coming into a trance is easy enough whether I'm lying on my back in a dark room or walking down the street in the middle of NYC.

My planning for tonight is to get into SP and then feel vibrations. This might be more of a goal in such a short time period, but fear is never an issue in my mind as well as determination.

I'm posting because I can use the help from those who have achieved AP and I will continue my journey from the present moment on in this thread.

      Thank you, very much.

I was trying to get into SP again in hopes to AP. Didn't quite happen though...

What ended up happening was I counted to 750 breaths (Best unit of measure, right? I know) and felt as though in SP. Then I concentrated on breathing, high-pitch sounds, and anything else I remembered to do while in SP. I mimicked the sensation of falling, I tried to focus on my '3rd eye'.

...Who knows what else I did...

Anyways, the most monumental moment of this time-span was when I felt I was spinning in a horizontal direction I couldn't quite distinguish (left or right). I was also feeling that the palms of my hands (Physically my palms were down) were facing up.

After that, I tried to focus on the sound of crickets in mating season. I "assume" that lasted for well over a half hour. No success.

What can/should I do from here?

Oh yes, I didn't feel anything that could be described as vibrations.

...yet the sound of the crickets were rather unsettling.
