I'm pretty sure it wasn't electrical.
This is a little OT, but I'm gonna ask at this site because you guys are all very insightful and informative. This goes back many years when I was in college. I lived in an old building on an old campus. The building was very, very haunted. I can't begin to tell you all the stuff I and my friends experienced there.
I've read information about different types of ghostly presences like unexplained cold drafts, seeing foggy images and unexplained fragrances wafting through rooms. But, this is one thing I witnessed and never got any info on. When my roommate and I would lie in our beds at night in the bedroom talking and facing the ceiling, we often saw these weird orangey stringy long kind of lights whipping around the perimiter of the ceiling. The color was sort of glowy like neon, but not as bright. I have many witnesses, like friens who stayed over, who also saw this, too. Whenever it happened it scared the crap out of everone. It was terrible and it only happened at night. It was very hard to sleep in that room. I have a friend who to this day insists is was some sort of faulty wiring causing an electric charge or something, but I disagree. This was the spookiest thing I have ever seen in my life, and I still wonder what it was more than 10 years later.
Any ideas???![]()

Me too. I just wonder what it was. I hope someone can give some insight.

I have a really big interest in the parnormal, and I have never heard of anything like that. Was it polterguiest like? Did it ever try to hurt you or anything. Or was it just lights?
You guys suck.
So you saw energy.... The younger genaration accepts seeing energy as a truth, not as a hypothesis or supposition.... It is as it is.... Nothing more nothing less.... Take what you needed to learn from the situation and move on.... If anyone doubts you weigh what you consider right and wrong.... Know you are the only one who know's what's right for you .... Ignore everyone else's truth.... It is as it is and nothing more..... Take what's for you that wasn't there before....
dreams of fortune dreams of fright
dreaming days & dreaming nights
fly softly and whisper tears
quench the fury drown the fears
breaking tendrils of memories
the stuff we're made is our dreams

There is a school in Iowa where the dorms are "haunted".
Ive heard of lots of schools like that. I sure hope the University of Arkansas is haunted. That would rock!!!
You guys suck.
Well, that's interesing that you asked that because a year later, I moved into an apartment below the one with the weird lights in the same building. I've heard that polterguiests can be "misgevious." Well, that apartment was even worse. I can't even begin to explain the fear I felt about going into the bedroom. When my roommate was away for the night, I slept on the couch. There were two times that I came home from classes in the afternoon and the electric burner on the stove was buring bright on high and the wall was really hot. Neither my roommate nor I had left it on. To this day I hate these memories. It felt like pure evil.Originally posted by ffx-dreamz

ffx-dreamz, feel free to PM me if you have any ideas. I have tons more stories and questions about this particular building that I lived in at the time.

Thats really strange.
*HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA!*(Head spins wildly out of control.)
I've seen lots of ghost footage, and a common factor in a lot of them, is that the camera often captures small reddish orbs that flit across the screen. Maybe that's what you saw?
You may laugh, but it's true.
The other day I was sitting next tp my computer, and browsing forums. Suddenly I felt an urge to go to the bathroom, but I finished my post first.
Then I rushed into the bathroom. I ran through 2 rooms and a hallway. Just as I was turning around a corner, I SAW a shadow siluette of a head and shoulders (not sure of the rest, as it was very fast). It felt like it was hovering in the midair, about 25 cm (10 inches) away from my face.
The second I focused on it, it disappeared....
I was pretty shocked by it...
I checked it again after I left the bathroom. There was nothing, that could cause this shadow to appear in midair...
Really freaky stuff...
probably your mind playing tricks on you, but its amazing that your mind can conjure up ghostly looking figures in front of you... so evey ghost story, visits from angels could very well be like a living lucid dream couldnt it? i mean if you can fly in a LD ,why cant your mind put a ghost in front of you in real life?

Im a bit like WindowsXP, I can sort of multi-task but every now and then I crash.
I believe in ghosts.
I have had an experience where I was in a park. It was pelting down with rain, which was quite annoying, and I was walking towards the exit when a flash of lightning appeared. For a second I saw a little girl with a red coat on, directly facing me, looking at me. The second it went I walked towards where she was (quite fast), and there was nobody there.
I have it sussed go here www.ghostfinders.co.uk its my friends website we go on investigastions
by the way Ev if you have a digi cam at night turn the lights off in each room and take a few photos with the flash see what u get.
and by the way u can turn the lights straight back on![]()

Tips For Newbies | What to do in an LD
Unless otherwise stated, views expressed in this post are not necessarily representative of the official Dream Views stance. Hell, it's probably not even representative of me.
I understand it could of been anything. With such a pelting storm going on, it was impossible to discern what was on the other side of the park at all. It could of been anything, yeah, but it's one of those experiences that when you write a few months or so later, upon reflection, you'd believe it's there. But it's many months later now, and I'm having the wibbly wobblies about it again. DV introduced me to a new bunch of people all over the internet that believe rather odd things, and that has made my belief waver, well, disappear really. Maybe they're real, but seeing people that believe ghosts are in fact the messengers of god or something - well, it made me wonder if I was just going with the flow of "ghosts are real".
For a start, the visibility really, really sucked. It could of even been a fox, or a real girl from the park caught off guard by the storm, a old carrier bag, or perhaps a ghost. While the latter isn't exactly the most likely thing to happen, foxes don't tend to be out in storms, it could of been a real girl I suppose, but carrier bags aren't red. I wouldn't call it solid evidence, but it was enough to sufficently shake me. Something may or may not of been there.
Reminds me of when i got bored and chanted "Bloody Mary" in a car mirror in the dark. I thought I saw something but remembered that it isn't actually real, so it sort of disappeared. The subconscious responded to my disbelief? I don't know.
What I do find intresting is that I could of just ignored all reasoning about it - ex: there was a ghost there. It's marevellously easy to convince yourself things that didn't happen. I could of believed them today on that shred of 'evidence', but when I look at it a few months later, it's not exactly much to draw any conclusion upon, is it?
So Kaniaz if i understood you right, the experience made you doubt!
Sort of you cant place it under one label without getting doubts about looking at it
from another angle of perspective.
Sort of dualism witch is quite healthy and sane i think
Ppl hate having doubts and uncertainty but infact its very normal
and logic!
Your Dreams are Truly Yours!
For reference, I quite like my post above. Who knew I could type something long and nicely structured?!?
If you begin to disbelieve yourself simply because you think other people might be influencing your thought process, aren't you then just letting them influence you in a different way?Originally posted by Kaniaz
well, it made me wonder if I was just going with the flow of \"ghosts are real\".
Tonight's the night. And it's going to happen again, and again. It has to happen.
