Thread: pentagram?

Hey, I'm moving this to Beyond Dreaming. You might get more replies there.

The pentagram is certainly not the symbol of the devil. Satanists have given it a bad name after they adopted it though. Hermetic mages and wiccan's among others use it to represent protection from entities with harmful intent while conjuring or summoning angels and other astral entities. Symbols are not inherently evil, it's how they are used. Different symbols mean different things to everyone.

As for why it's in your basement, I have never heard of something like this just appearing out of thin air. There are four possibilities, One: You drew it yourself to get attention for some reason that I cannot fathom, Two: You drew it whilst sleepwalking, Three: It was there all the time maybe from a previous owner and it only got uncovered when somebody moved something that had been there, four: The least likely reason is that there is some sort of entity of immense power trying to come in contact with you for some reason that only you could figure out.

It is a beautifully drawn sigil though...

The thing is though it ISNT a drawing and it just appeared in the middle of my basement floor when it DEFINATLEY wasnt there before..
and one of those cross looking symbols is the cross of the devil ..

If that is true then there is probably some kind of entity trying to contact you for some reason.

Again no symbol is inherently evil, there is no such thing as "the cross of the devil"


edit: If you are uncomfortable with it being there paint over it and say a prayer/incantation of protection of whatever religion you happen to follow.

Its a cloth fabric type material and i plan on burning it lol..
and by the devils cross i men symbol of satan or w\e

Burning it is the right course of action if it scares/offends you.

Believe what you will but once again there is no inherent symbol of satan/devil/evil/George Bush.

Did you look up? If it was on the floor, could it have fallen from the ceiling?

I doubt it was a prank, since the got the pentagram inverted... (Which normally is forgotten.) It could have been a protective device, if right above where it is is an door, than the previous owners might have believed that...

That's not a satanic cross. That symbol is the representation of the planet Saturn in Astrology.

Oh ok but still how does this appear out of no where? theres no way it fell from my cealing

I don't think things appear out of thin air...I've no idea how it appeared in your basement beyond the other responses given earlier in the thread.

I do agree, however, that if it makes you uncomfortable, you should burn it. Personally I'd be looking into what it meant before destroying it, though.

If you want to look into it...those are all astrological symbols...except perhaps the triangles in the corners; I've never seen those before. Then again, there's plenty I've never seen before.

this happened with my dad before too at his job he looked down and then looked back up and there was a cross sitting there that was not there before and absolutely no one was around him

correct me if I am wrong, but I believe you are looking at it upside down... it just feels more right to me when I look at it the other way (and if I am right, that would make it a pentacle, not a pentagram)

It's a pentagram surrounded by the Zodiac...

To explain it in lay-man's terms, when it is upright, the point for spirit is at the top, meaning you show respect to the spirits who help you, when it is downwards, you are showing that the items of the earth hold more power than those of the spirits.
