hey! welcome jacs!!! w00t!
you got sleep paralysis the first time, then on the next one you must have had either a OBE of fell asleep and had a very vivid dream!

Hi, I'm brand new to this forum so please bear with me. About two years ago I had a dream where I thought I was awake but I couldnt move. I coudlnt shout. After a bit I realized that I might be asleep. When I finally woke up I was very disoriented. About two months ago, I had the same dream but in it I tried to turn on a lightswitch and my hand passed right through it like a ghost might, when I went to my sleeping daughter, I touched her and actually felt her warm skin...but I knew I was asleep and this was another dream like the one I had previously. It happened again last night. This time I actually "felt" my hand getting tingly from the way I fell asleep. I felt the way my hand felt against my cheeck in my dream, and I knew I was asleep and it was happening again. I dont know why I keeep having this dream or if its trying to tell me something. Can anyone shed some light on this for me? thanks

I agree with DD it could have been sleep paralysis or perhaps a false awakening.
It also sounds like you are developing lucidity in your dreams. Look around here and read. If possible try to get a copy of Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming by Stephen LaBerge.
