CONGRATZ on your first LD! Many more to come!
After about two weeks of trying I finally had a lucid dream!
This morning I woke up and decided to try a WBTB WILD combination. I tried WILD for about an hour and just gave up and went to sleep.
I woke up later and went back asleep again. Then, in my dream I got out of bed and decided to do a nose rc, and it worked! I was like, what the hell I can breathe! I finally understood that I was dreaming and it started to fade away so I rubbed my hands together, and that worked pretty well.
I jumped through my window and ended up in this weird grassy place that was pretty fuzzy and unclear. After walking around for a while I found a staircase leading to a door. I said to myself that there would be a hot girl on the other side, and there was (why did I try this first instead of flying?). Then the dream faded and I woke up.
The whole dream was not very real and had graphics similar to those of the N64. Will later lucid dreams be better and feel more real (more vivid)? Were your first lucid dreams like this? I feel like I should be happy for having my first lucid but it was so unreal that I don't feel that exited.
O well, it was still cool.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the lucid! Sounds quite good for a first one.
Some lucids are great and some aren't so great. In the future you will get much better "visual effects" in your dreams. So don't worry.

With training and practice, they should getter better and more vivid. When you have really vivid LD's and good control in them, you'll be excited. You'll wake up and feel like telling everyone you know about it. It's pretty cool. So just keep at it. This sounds like a good start!
Thanks for the great advice guys

Nice job!
How long did it take you before you had good control and vividness in yours?

About thirty of them, it takes a while to get really good at control. I know, not the answer you were hoping for, but I guarantee you'll still have fun getting to that point.
For me, it probably started with a couple of weeks of really focusing on just remembering my dreams. Every day I remembered more and they got more vivid and detailed as I went along. I'm just starting the whole process again and I can see the same thing happening already. I've been concentrating on recall for a few days now, and last night was more clear, vivid and easy to remember then I can remember in a long time.
After a couple of weeks, I started focusing on doing reality checks and a couple of other techniques for LDing, and was probably LDing in a week or so. It didn't take too long before my control was fairly decent (within a few LDs), but I never got too far with it where my control was REALLY good. I'm hoping to go further with it this time around, so maybe I can share my experiences then and give you a better idea.![]()
so dream recall is actually important to increase the clarity and control of the dream?

I think kichu is right - everything I've ever read about LDing says you have to start with dream recall. I know from personal experience that the times when I'm being good about keeping my dream journal are the times when I'm having the most LDs, as well as the longest, clearest and most detailed dreams, both lucid and non-lucid.
It might seems silly at first, when for the first week or so you can only remember a few details and writing them down seems unnecessary, but definitely do it and keep doing it. Becoming increasingly familiar with your dreaming patterns/styles etc (dreamsigns and whatnot) can aid your future LD efforts, as well as help tune you in to the tricky ways of your subconscious![]()
Once again grats man. Hey and by the way, which RC do you use? And did you realize you were dreaming from RCing yourself? If not how did you realize?

Congratulations!![]()
Yeah I did realize I was dreaming from the RC. I pinched my nose to see if I could breathe and I could. It seems like this is usually a effective RC for most people. I had my second LD this morning also from a nose pinch RC.
