Hey everybody
I was introduced to the concept of lucid dreaming by a friend, who told me basically everything that I know about it. Being only very new to the idea, I have yet to successfully have a lucid dream. However, as I focus more and more on my dreams, they have become clearer, and I have started remembering them and noticing details in them more often. I have learnt things about myself and my mind which I never knew about before, and I've found that my mind can do things which I didn't before think to be possible - mainly things regarding the powers of the subconscious. Quite incredible stuff, and as I progress further with my practice of dreaming (hopefully to finally experience true lucid dreaming) I am eager to learn more.... so, I searched 'dreaming' and 'forum' on google, and wound up here. Seems like a nice board - I hope you don't mind me sticking around.![]()

Happily
Stuff to do with memory and my mind 'filling-in-the-gaps', really. For example, I experienced this one a bit over a week ago.
I was walking around a lake, through the pine trees on its edge. I remember taking in all the details, such as the hills on the other side, the bicycle path, et cetera.
The next day, I was talking to my best friend about school camp in ninth grade, and he reminded me of the lake place we stayed at in Wangaratta. I couldn't recall it; not one detail of it at all, so he described it to me (it was important that I remembered because he was telling me about where some kid in our group had broken his leg)... I still didn't know where he was talking about, but I recognised the place from where I had been in my dream. After we watched a movie we went back to his place and he said, 'hey, I'll show you a photo of the place I was talking about before'; which he did, and it was the exact same fucking place as the one I had visited in my dream.
I had been there in real life on ninth grade camp, but I hadn't remembered anything about that camp or the places we had stayed at.... let alone had I remembered that particular lakeside.
So basically, something which I had totally forgotten about had remained deep in my brain and surfaced during a dream. I wonder how much other 'forgotten knowledge' is secretly stuck inside my brain.... It's frustrating, because now I know that it's all in there, I just can't access it! :p
