TAKE DV members advice with caution! some have had zero or 1-2 LD's yet act like gurus

Well, first, I would suggest reading a BUNCH of tutorials. They can really help. You need to make a Dream Journal, so you can improve your dream recall. Dream Recall is important because what fun is a Lucid Dream if you can't remember it in the morning?
But, your chances of remembering your dreams tonight are greater, just because you joined this site, and remembering dreams and Lucid Dreaming has been thrown into your head. There is a chance of you getting a DILD, but it is a kinda slim chance.

Well i just woke up and i didn't remember any dreams..
so basically what your saying about the journal is to like set the alarm for a few hours after i go to sleep and when i wake up record my dreams?

Kinda. Do you notice when you wake up in the middle of the night? Or do you wake up, and think you have slept through the whole night?
Most people wake up after each REM cycle, but don't remember it at all. If you wake up in the night, and notice that you are awake, write down anything you can remember.
Another method is to drink a LOT of water before bed. Your body won't wake you up to go, but when you DO wake up, you will notice. If you do this, be sure to write down your dreams BEFORE you go to the bathroom, or you might forget them.
Using an alarm is the last method. You go into your first REM cycle 4-6 hours after you go to sleep. If you set your alarm to wake you up DURING a REM cycle, you will be woken up straight out of a dream, and will probably have great recall.
These are just methods to start you out. Once you remember 1-2 dreams a night, you can stop using them, and just write down what you remember whenever you wake up.
Keeping a DJ is extremely important. It is the best tool for enhancing dream recall.
CAUTION: Using the alarm method might not be a good idea if you have to wake up early for school/work the next morning.
~Good Luck!

Lots of people have a lucid dream the first time, for others it takes a while, but is very very worth it when you finally have one. Do reality checks and look for dream signs.

Welcome to Dream ViewsDon't be discouraged. You need to start keeping a dream journal. Every morning when you wake up, dont move for a bit. Try to let the dreams come back to you. Then after a minute, get up and write down ANYTHING you can remember, even if you are not sure what it was.
