Hi, Dexter's introduction.

Hello dreamviews forum,

Dexter would like to introduce himself. He found dreamviews from google when he was discussing dreams in another forum where it was slightly off topic. He would like to explain the third person he will constantly reference from. In an attempt to convert to 'E-prime' thought patterns he has adopted this standard of speaking. He finds 'E-prime' a very difficult thing to do but writing in third person on forums helps him a lot.

He likes studying altered states of mind and exploring his own mind from as many angles as possible. As such he may from time to time reference entheogenic use and where relevant such actions are fictional accounts of this guy named dexter who isn't real. The entheogenic experiments are imagined byproducts he creates with powers of his mind that mimic such things that would possibly be illegal in some areas. As such he doesn't actually do those drugs but rather simulates the experience by telling his brain to use endogenous chemicals to simulate those experiences. As such no illegal activities are actually reference but any such drugs are merely metaphors to explain what swim experiences. He feels compelled to explain this because he is sure that some of those experiences will be compared to dreams he intends to discuss. Furthermore speaking in third person about a fictional charecter provides avoidance of self incrimination if any acts discussed were interpreted as illegal activity (Which dexter would never do!

)

That said Dexter would like to say why he has come to dream forums and thank dreamforums in advance and it's users for accepting him as a part of their community (Assuming such happens, Dexter doesn't like to presume). He has a lot of strange dreams which sometimes profoundly affect his paradigm and thought processes. He likes to hear other peoples opinions about those thought processes and paradigms. He uses a lot of metaphors and is very skilled with words possessing quite a large vocabulary due to the insane amount of books he reads. He really does not want to sound like an overinflated ego but would like to explain a little more about himself.

He went through the psychiatric system while young having diagnoses such as ADHD, Bipolar type I, and possible Aspergers though later doctors discounter the latter when he argued for it. They thought he had way to many communication skills and was too perceptive of other peoples emotions. Well this may describe Dexter today he feel that did not hold true in his younger years. Dexter as a child was very anti-social and escaped into fantasy worlds (Star Wars and later Fantasy novels and RPG's). He could not understand why other did not like him until he realized later in life upon analysis of human behavior that this was a misconception of his that he caused to manifest into reality. As such he used his constant people watching and reading of books to analyze communication patterns and use of language to make a wholly left brain compensation for his lack of right brain intuition by making Language itself (a left brain function) serve creative and communicative functions (Right brain tasks). Lately he has been fascinated by Carl Jung whose writing give many validations and words to concepts he observed and constructed on his own as well as providing new connection to those observation and further allowing him insight into what he calls the wonderful fractal pattern of human behavior and associated thoughts!

All in all he has become more proficient than most he interacts with and intuiting human thought to the point where quite a few people assert that he must be psychic. He explains that such knowledge sources from observable patterns of physical nature and behavior habits common to most human in certain states within the denial complex of repression and abuse which he asserts the hypothesis that everyone acts from somewhere on the 'wheel' of.

All that said as a wholly rational introduction which sound fairly nice, Dexter would like to warn dreamviews that he thinks he may be in a certifiably psychotic state of mind and to please not take Dexter too seriously. He is after....crazy as a walnut because he thinks that he can discover the truth behind the universe by reconciling paradoxes which he believes are composed of compensations to lies. When a paradox is observed he tries to work out the truth by rationalizing the opposite of what is at first a seemingly rational answer might in fact be true and tries to work backwards from there. This theory led him to Jungian Psychology before he ever actually read Carl jung.

Again, Dexter is crazy. He understands if people in dreamviews do not like him, his opinions, ideas, or statements and if confronted with irreconcilable differences doesn't have a problem moving on. He is not, however a troll despite what may appear to be a series of unpopular ideas, contrary opinions and such. He is addicted to asking the question 'why' and has a tendency to argue the devil's advocate on any particular issue not because he in fact believes in such standpoint but often rather because he would like to believe in the contrary to which he argues for and wishes a wholly well thought out, described and valid basis for logic to be established around and idea.

He LOVES logic and can always be reasoned with on this basis. He is, despite his psychosis, a fairly reasonably individual not prone to violence but very inclined dissonance and argument wherein good debate and intellectual points may be pursued.

He would like to point out that he was VERY impressed by one thing thus far and that is the 'trans' option in gender. It's not something he's seen anywhere else in his experience on the internet that isn't specifically GBLT related in some way. He feels strongly about this issue because of a close friend of his that is no longer with us in her physical form. He likes to think she doesn't have to worry about such things anymore but likes to be an informed advocated for her brothers and sisters when the opportunity arises. Once again, very impressed.

TiA and look forward to discussing LD, and many philosophies with dreamviews and it people. Oh yes, I should warn you, he writes a LOT.

He is also a little OCD about his English but has very clumsy fingers and may be slightly dyslexic and so will edit his posts frequently after posting but nevertheless they will often be riddled with minor errors and typos. A lot of times he feels he has something to add to his posts like right now he realized that in this multiparagraphic introduction he totally forgot to explain his experience with LD.

Dexter LD's on occasion and usually is aware that he has the power to exert control over his dreams. He doesn't have much experience with LD per se but sometimes meditates before he sleeps telling himself to remember his dreams. Sometimes he writes them down and sometimes he just thinks about them a lot when they seem profound. He intends to review the dreamviews main page and get information dreamviews gives importance to. Dexter LOVES information!

He would like to mention that he has reasons for picking the username he did and using the name Dexter to describe himself in posts even thought they are different names. These are very specific reasons but they could easily become another 20 paragraphs and for now Dexter wishes to leave it be as it is 4AM and is ready to stop typing for a while.

Dexter fully intends to take responsibility for all of his actions. You might understand the purpose behind the third person verbiage if you actually read the introduction. If you lack the mental coordination to read Dexter's posts please do not reply with ignorant slander claiming a gross understanding of psychological principles you lack the desire or skill to exercise yourself and use such ignorance to make propagandist statements about Dexter's character. Dexter believes in the the love and respect due to all Mankind and if you accept it he will forthwith engage in stimulating intellectual debate over the nature of third person verbiage.

Dexter has no problem being aware of his faults and shortcomings. He visits and uses forums for that purpose exactly. To find and discover parts of himself others can only see more clearly in him through his own repression or forgetfulness. If it weren't for the fact that Dexter just loves true horror and constantly seeks to confront himself with the fears present but hidden within his own mind he would easily recognize inherent truths present in the statements you made. As such however none present themselves in your reply and it shall be used as an example for those who have requested clarification of process of paradox reconciliation. You posted it, offering the concepts and ideas generated within your mind to be open and subject to criticism and argument.

Better and worse are relative to both original position and perception. What may appear from your perspective to be worse may be better from another's perspective. Dexter will always improve himself with all of his decisions.

If Dexter's decisions move him into a 'worse' state of existence such was wholly intentional even if he did not consciously render such actions. Therefore he created this state merely to consider it with greater understanding. Even so, he learns from such a state and derives understanding from it which leads him to an ultimately greater existence.

Like a Tibetan Monk? Dexter has considered moving to Tibet to do this. Unfortunately China's military domination of Tibet and outlawing of the practice of Bhuddism makes this nigh impossible at the moment.

Furthermore, Dexter uses Linguistics in an attempt to compensate for a lack of natural intuitive ability to communicate with other humans. Ironic though, that the excess to which he has striven to this end has achieved equal alienation.

Dexter has pondered the idea that this possibly indicates certain lack of relevancy for language to human communication.

Dexter is not a violent person. He can assure you he will not troll or attack anyone with his linguistic skills. If you fear logic and psychology then Dexter might scare you. One may however be scared by extreme nature of such logic and psychology applied. It likens to 'going left to turn right' so to speak.

Dexter reccomends just being amused by him. He likens existence to a cosmic joke. Humor is it's nature and reality becomes a nightmare without it.

I was talking about pure interaction with the world instead of viewing things through that judgmental left hemisphere of ours. I mean, in my opinion you could still use your left hemisphere like a normal person, even referring yourself in first person again, it's just a process of letting it go and surrendering to an open relationship with your environment.

Just my 2 cents, and it's not like I can explain what I mean anyway. I remember switching to third person once on mushrooms because I felt like I was cutting myself off from so much love by saying words like "me" and "I." I could see why you would want to change your thought model, but I don't know how effective it is to just condition yourself to third person. There are other, more helpful exercises.

Dexter doesn't do this 24/7. Dexter limits his mental aerobics. Dexter always pursues helpful mental exercise. Dexter does not find his Left hemisphere is judgemental. Rather the opposite as he observe his right reacting and judging wheres the left tells him that all points and perspectives require consideration and validation to awaken the awareness necessary for Decision making processes.

Dexter, in fact, does NOT emulate himself after a certain famous star trek character.
