This is what your hands might look like in a lucid dream.
This is very similar to my hands look.
Look into the spiral for a while then look at your hands.
I am sure many will have seen it before.

not working. might be because i'm already tripping. ROFL~!
mine just tend to be out of proportion or otherwise normal.
Our dreams are firsthand creations, rather than residues of waking life. We have the capacity for infinite creativity.
Thanks for posting this spiral.. I've been looking for a nice big one!![]()
My hands? Even though I'm a nail biter, I always have long fingernails when I'm dreaming, they look like claws, they still look blurry though.
Of course, that only happens when I check them, otherwise... Ummm... I don't know.
it makes my hands look like they are breathing
I always have either really long fingers or more fingers than I have normally, 5 to 7 on one hand. It also feels live my fingers disapear when I look at them out of the corner of my eye.

My hands look they do if I open my eyes under water.
My hands have always looked normal. Multicolored lines would be sweet though. :O

Anyone ever changed themselves into another animal such as a tiger and then examined their paw?

I meant to respond to this yesterday. I've seen those spirals on a number various websites but never really thought about the fact that the effect is much like dream vision. Actually, anything can have that wavy, heat/vapor distortion appearance to it in a dream, lucid or non. Of course, every one will have their own versions many times.
In a lucid last night, this thread came to mind so I decided to look at a bed and observe the effect. Sure enough, I said to myself "Yes, this does look a heck of a lot like the distortion effect caused by the spiral illusion thing." I saw some parts that were much more distorted for awhile but, most of the bed I was looking at had just about the same level of wavy motion as the spiral induces. I was able to solidify and stabilize the visuals after a little trying.
Thanks for bringing attention to this. Like I said, I've seen the spiral things plenty of times. I even have a few links to different ones saved. But I never drew the parallel to the dream-like qualities. Good call![]()

Or maybe it only looked like that because you partly expected it too...

I'm sure that plays a part as well. But I think that dreams in general are somewhat like that in many respects. However, it's like with the quantum mechanics field: direct observation itself can alter the appearance of things. So there are many cases where dream objects have that visually distorted state of flux thing going on but you don't really notice it. And when you actually pay attention to it it may or may not alter itself.
So, I don't think the message here is that dream hands or other objects always appear that way. The message - from my perspective at least - is that it can and does happen at least some of the time. So if you add that to your list of dream signs to look for then you increase your odds of lucidity. Every little bit helps when considered collectively.
When I made the conscious effort to consider the comparison I found it to be strikingly similar indeed. I was actually going to post in here yesterday but I'm kind of glad I waiting until this morning because my dream allowed me to confirm the phenomena. And I know I've experienced that before so it's not just a byproduct of expectation (though I'm sure it very well can be in many cases, if you do expect it to be). I just never paid it any mind because, after all, even the most absurd things seem normal in the dream world.
But I have made conscious notice of it in varying degrees on numerous occasions with my dream hands. But mainly just times when I used my hands as an RC.
Has anybody here seen the movie "E.T."? In my dreams, my hands look like his, really long and boney, and the end of the fingers plump out... NASTY!
I have never looked at my bare feet in a lucid.
What do they look like? Probably similar to your hands i would guess.
Wow!! Thanks for posting![]()
