      not quite superman yet

      Hi! I just found your site and am very excited about learning more.


      I've had a few lucid dreams during my life but none that really went anywhere after i became "dream aware". I watched Waking Life thursday and checked out some sites on lucidity and was lucky enough to have 3 lucids tonight. On my third one of a chain I tried to fly, but after my running start I got off the ground but just kind of floated upwards. I tried to hold my body in a position of superman so I could soar over the landscape I saw, but I just kept going upwards hehe. After this I kind of "swam" froggy style a little bit through the air. But this was really slow, and I couldn't go anywhere fast. Any flying tips from the veterans? Thanks!

      It's great that you have had such great progress in so little time...

      In regards to flying: It is a hard thing to control since you are bound to the chaotic laws of the dream world. The higher the lucidity level the more control you will have over it all. Next time try shouting "High level lucidity" and see if that helps.

      Something like this has happened to me before. Once I was able to fly freely, but couldn't turn where I wanted to, I just sort of kept going due to inertia. I had to make as if I was swimming froggy style too, in order to propel myself to my desired direction. Even then I kept "skidding" every time and this eventually woke me up...

      P.S. Techboy, what's your point with that? It's not like he asked or its a hard thing to spot....
