Very new to the LD scene.
Hey to you all, I'm Cadabena (with the Ben in the middle being my real name). I've only known about lucid dreaming since Tuesday night when a guy came on a radio show I listen to advertising some LD mask thing (Anyone else listen to The Night Before on Kerrang Radio in the UK?). I did a bit of researching, and found this site a few days ago. I've always had excellent dream recall, remembering about 3-4 per night. My problem lies with my dream signs. My dreams seem to have lots of detail, and I even manage to notice my nose which has been one of the main signs I've been trying. I have managed to notice I'm dreaming in one or two dreams, but never become conscious. Is there anything I'm missing?
Also, a dream sign that I've come up with myself, but haven't tried yet. I made a picture simply saying in bold letters "REALITY CHECK!" and set it as my phone's background. As my phone is flip, I would look at the time on the screen, flip my phone shut, then open it again rechecking the time while trying to change it. Would this work?
Thanks in advance.

, Cadabena!
The phone idea is a great one! Anything to keep your mind on dreams during the day, reminding you to test your state and see if you're dreaming.
You're on the right track. Just keep it up, and keep reading. You'll get there. Line is right about the journal--developing recall is very important too.
Have fun, and let us know if you have any questions.

Thanks. I'll keep a pen and paper on top of my alarm to remind me each morning. I'm not going to rush this, as I know it won't get me anywhere if I do. I'll be amazingly pleased if I get a lucid dream before the new year though.
Also, another thing I've noticed with my dreams that could be a problem. More often than not, my dreams are almost like a film. Just last night, my dream was almost like a late 80s style American lawyer program, and the night before, a zombie attack featuring my myself and my family. Towards the end of these dreams, credits roll as they would with a film/TV programme. I may find a dream sign harder to work, as I may accept strange occurrences as within the film itself. I know that probably didn't make sense, but hey.
