Amusing sleep stories - What's yours?

So last night something fell on my face and woke me up, this freaked me out a little as I sleep alone. But then I realised it was a hand that wasn't my own! I freak the hell out and scramble upright - the hand and the rest of the arm fall into my lap - I did not remain calm. In fact if you've seen Apocalypse Now where Willard's tied up and Chef's head is thrown in his lap, that was pretty much my reaction . I seize the arm at the wrist (it's cold) and yank it, not sure what I'm going to do when I find the rest, and yep you guessed it, it was attached to my shoulder - I'd fallen asleep with it above my head on the pillow and lost all circulation. I spent the next few minutes waggling my shoulder and trying to slap life into my completely numb arm.

Anyone else want to share random sleep stories? I'd love to hear!

      iarpo, LOL!!!

Well here's one I can share.

After having lucid dreams for a while, I often started feeling only faint vibrations. Sooo.. after reading that sometimes vibrations can be happening even though they're not strong (or seem to have stopped).. you should merely *roll over* and you'll find yourself out and lucid.

      Well that sounded pretty nifty!

So the next time I was in bed and felt the vibrations, I rolled to my right.. and ran smack into the wall!

To my utter embarrassment, I hear my husband say, "uuuuuh... are you alright?"

I can still picture my husband shaking his head as he looked at the wall imprint on my forehead the next morning.

      He he Those are great!

Mine isn't quite as hilarious, but I was amused by this. I was dreaming in a sort of semi-conscious state and dreamed I was with some people (vikings, I think...). There was an object that was laying right next to me and the leader of the group told me to hug it as tightly as I wanted. I hugged it and pulled it closer until I heard this *thunk* and opened my eyes. I found myself hugging my alarm clock and the *thunk* was the sound of my power strip hitting the floor as I unplugged it.

(That alarm clock fell off of my bed so many times. It's a wonder it worked as long as it did.... a lot of things fell of that bed. Ah, dorm life.)

Classic Those would've been great to watch for someone stood next to the bed! (minus the creepiness of course).

My uncle used to be a terrible sleep walker, every night he'd get up, unlock the front door, lock himself in the garden shed and sleep bolt upright on a stool.

I think in the end someone had to hide the key every night so he'd at least only wander the house.

Related to the fallen-asleep arm... one time my arm was by my side and I had fallen asleep on it. I was aware that it was my arm , but it was completely lifeless and I couldn't move the entire arm nor feel it. Anyways, I wanted to try to get it underneath my pillow and didn't think about picking it up with my other hand. So I used my body and twisted it so my arm would swing up to my pillow and I'd put my pillow on top of it, but instead it smacked me right in the damn face and hurt like a bitch.

How do you guys get dead arms like that? My arms usually just feel thicker, when that kind of stuff happens to me.

It only goes completely dead when I'm asleep and my body has to wake me up, so maybe your body's more alert to it (?). Plus I usually sleep half on my stomach half on my side, on top of an arm - I feel exposed if I sleep on my back

[Edit: on an unrelated note my post counter's stuck at 10. I don't especially mind, it's just odd]
