Looks badly photo-shopped, TBH.
Then again, I've seen pictures which are legit which look badly photo-shopped.
Oh dear Lord...
I just found this pic online:
http://img512.imageshack.us/my.php?image=maggotgq1.jpg
It claims that the mother noticed a small bulge on the boy's body, but decided to ignore it. Eventually it got bigger and she took him to the doctor and the doctor decided to investigate.
Upon investigation, the area was infested by maggots!
I just want to know, is this thing authentic? It looks very gross, and real, but is it?
If this pic isn't supposed to be on DV, please delete it, I was just wondering.

You merely have to change your point of view slightly, and then that glass will sparkle when it reflects the light.

yeah, looks photoshopped to me, too.
The thing is those don't look like maggots, they look like meal worms. Big difference! Plus maggots don't usually bulge out in such a uniform pattern like that.

There are realistic cases like this though. There is some type of worm that gets into some people's bodies in under-developed countries, like African nations that will get inside of the body and grow and eventually basically eats it's way outside of the body and poke it's little head out sometimes. The only way they get them out is to very slowly and carefully (so they don't break it's head off or part of it's body and leave it inside of the host) catch it by it's head when it burrows outside of the body and remove it that way. They're very long sometimes to and cause extreme pain when bringing them out. I can't remember the name, I always want to say it's the trichinosis worm, but I believe those things start in the intestines and this worm doesn't. I saw it on an episode of Ripley's Believe It Or Not once, but it's been a good while back. Like years and years.
There's also been cases where larve have came out of people's eyes and heads before to, it's pretty disgusting I think, but oh well. I bet it sucks.
