      Darwin Awards.

Take a look at this site.

      http://www.darwinawards.com/

It is a site that has the most idiotic ways people have died. Is this funny or wrong?

Well maybe the name "Darwin awards" is a bit disrespectful. But I can't say I didn't find some of those stories interesting. I'd probably think diferently if somebody I knew was there.

To clarify, they don't have to die, just loose the ability to procreate.

The books were okay, but the last time I checked out the site, they tried too hard to be entertaining. It's like America's Funniest Home Videos rather than a Manual Of Things YOu Should Not Be So Stupid As To Do. (The more recent books, to me, seem to be tryign harder to be fiunny, and I find that the funnier they try to be, the more toward "wrong: it slides.)

(13 January 2008, Florida) A 37-year-old man was killed trying to cross the Manasota Key drawbridge on his motorcycle. Wearing only swim trunks and sneakers, the man was seen racing at high speed towards the gap as the bridge began to open.
Bridge designers had anticipated such lunacy and invented the crossing guard. The closing gates swept him off his Suzuki and over the side of the bridge, into the water and out of the gene pool. By a twist of fate, the motorcycle continued up the ramp and made it across to the other side!

They're not all about deaths...this one isn't yet it's hilarious:

February 2005, Canada | Canadian winter nights are long and usually quiet, but one exception was the night Constable Morgan responded to a drunk driver call. He caught up to the errant driver and fell in behind in order to establish the commission of the crime. In a short distance, the driver missed a curve and slid into a snow bank. Morgan switched on his lights, stopped his patrol unit, and approached the driver's door.

The driver decided to flee. His tires, mired in the snow, spun wildly but the car went nowhere. Constable Morgan thought he would have a little fun. He began running in place alongside the driver's window. The driver was surprised to see the Constable keeping up with his car. The speedometer read 100 kph.

Constable Morgan broke the window glass with his flashlight and ordered, "Pull over!" The driver's response? He jammed the pedal to the metal!

The car's speedometer had reached 175 kph yet, astonishingly, the Constable was keeping pace and ordering the driver to stop. Finally, convinced he was never going to outrun the fleet-footed officer, the drunk man let off the gas, turned the wheel, and brought his car to a "stop." The Constable escorted the man to his patrol vehicle, which had magically followed the two on their mad dash across the snow-covered tundra.

The man was charged with DWI, speeding, and failing to yield to a policeman. Brought before the judge for arraignment, the man, who had not quite regained his wits, saluted the incredible athletic prowess of the local officers.

Haha, Sandform, Wakata, those are pretty good.

I recall hearing about a man (from the Darwin Awards) who got upset at his girlfriend. As she fled to get inside his blue pickup truck, he grabbed his shotgun and chased after. In a blind moment of fury, just before the girl drove off, he grabbed the shotgun by the end of the barrel and swung the butt down hard onto the hood. Naturally, that shock cause the gun to discharge and fire a round right into the angry boyfriend. He died a not-so-glorious death.

      it's a form of entertainment!

i read one one time, i can't remember exactly how it went.. but it was like:

a man tied a rope around his neck which was fastened to a rock below him on a cliff, had drank poison earlier, had a gun with him, set himself on fire, he jumped off the cliff and shot the gun trying to kill himself but missed and shot the rope which made the rope tear apart in which he fell in water below that made the fire go out and it was either the impact made him throw up the poison or a guy in a fishing boat got him and did cpr which made him vomit the poison out

For one thing, Justin, that's not a darwin award. Darwin Awards require a removal from the gene pool. And honorable mentions have to actually have happened. That is an urban legend. There hace been records of ridiculously failed suicide attempts, but that is not one. I read it once,. aside from in an urban legend book, in a book of "humorous" (stupid) stories that some idiot wrote.
