Of course it wasn't a tangent. It was a 2-dimensional shape, where a tangent is a line touching only one part of the circumference of a cirlce. Whereas a line is 1-dimensional, not 2-dimensional. It was just a silly joke of course.

i think you two are the only ones who even read the joke

well, i think post count does, to an extent, play a role in "is this guy important in the community". obviously when it's a guy that joined two years ago, but has 30 posts, they aren't obviously that important. but if they've got lots (ie: 700+), i'd say they were pretty important. but they could just be spammers, so it's a pretty versatile thing...just use common sense.
