I use them in different context though..

lol is just a passing little giggle or a "Heh" and a smile.
lawl is like a legit laugh out loud.

I hate public polls.

lawl is quicker for me to type. In the time it takes me to type two l's, I can easily sneak in the "aw" with my other hand. However, for lol, that's two l's, separated by moving the "l" finger up to the "o" resulting in three key strokes from the same finger, instead of just two.

If you pause after the l, to make your other hand type the aw, and then go back to the l, I could see lol being faster. But try typing out a few lawl lawl lawl lawl's and lol lol lol lol's in a row, and then decide. I will admit that my right ring finger isn't the fastest.

I prefer ROFL, myself.

I think lol has more character.

I'm telling you. 'lawl' gets the wave of movement. 'lol' requires the staccato three key bounces. Lawl is way faster. In the time that your right ring finger has to move to hit the 'l' key twice, you've already hit a and w and that same finger is on its way back down again. Unless you type like RL Stein. In which case you shouldn't be typing anyway!

Lol and "lawl" is the difference between your average member and Mark75. In case you are wondering.... that's a huge difference. Mark75 has been more often than not caught using Lulz so I am going to assume based on the status of Mark75 that Lulz is far superior than it's counterparts lol and lawl. A far superior hybrid if you will.

I only really use "lawl" and "LOL" .. lol is outdated.
