Thread: ...and WHY do americans wear shoes inside??

A. In public bathrooms, people tend to do gross stuff like piss all over the place.

B. In public places, people tend to step in shit and not wipe it off.

C. If you take off and put on your shoes every time you walk in and out, you'd be wasting a lot of time.

D. People have sex on floors.

E. I take my shoes off when I go inside normally (if I'm going over a friend's house I usually ask if they don't let people wear shoes inside the house). A lot of times families don't wear shoes inside.

I was thinking more of inside a house, when I said Inside...

It is easier to keep them on. Although, I usually never keep my shoes on in my house (I'm an american). I walk around barefoot most of the time in my house. When I come in from going inside, I keep my shoes on (some of the time) if they are clean, and take them off if they get dirty.

But yeah I always take off my shoes, unless their floors are dirty from other people walk in with shoes. I then just keep my shoes on and i get a little mad to that fact that they dont care if people walk in with dirt .

When i met some of my friends they would just waltz right in my house with their shoes on. This went on for a couple of times until one day i told them to take off their shoes or dont come in. Now all my friends either take off their shoes immidiately or they ask if they can take it off.

i take mine off, and then put slippers on... its so nasty, dirty floors. ect ect...

we keep our shoes on because we don't like to have to smell eachother's nasty sweaty ass feet.

im a hick. im always without shoes. be it out side or not. mainly when im inside i have my shoes off cuz i dont like wearing shoe that much. but when im over at a friends house i have half shoes (shoes without backs on them) so there easy to take off or put on if need be. i normally know which of my friends house they'll let me wear shoes and which they wont. but if its a new house i'll just ask which they want

A lot of Asian families (i have alot of asian friends.. hrm ) tend to have a tradition of taking off shoes RIGHT at the entrance, but i never wear shoes, so when I come inside their home with superdirty feet, they insist that i put some shoes ON... so i guess i killed teh tradition

i dont walk around with bare feet lolz no! shoes take too long to take off and put on, so sandals are better.

No one ever walks into our house with shoes on.. and the tile/carpet/hardwood floors are always very very clean (my mother's fault). There's no way I'd bring in a buncha dirt from the outside. And taking off my shoes/putting them back on takes like 2 seconds, cuz I just slip 'em off and slip 'em back on.

BTW streets in american suburbs are really clean...

If I took my shoes off in my house, my dog would tear them to shreds. My friend made this mistake when he came over to my to house.

I never thought wearing shoes inside was a big thing, some people do some people dont. I just thought it was personal prefrance :-)

I tend to never wear shoes. If I do I wear sandals.
